Current Release: Danger Zone
Describe your current release in two sentences?
A savvy stunt woman must hide a secret that could cost her everything. But meeting a playboy business man might not only expose her secret, it might cost her life.
Please describe your writing environment.
My environment depends on how full my house is! When the family is home, I'm usually in my office, but when it's quiet, I tend to park on the sofa with my laptop. I can just as easily get work done at Starbucks. I actually need the change of scenery, I think. The same old thing can get old and stale.
What are you working on?
I'm currently finishing up the next installment of the Adrenaline Highs Series.
What do you feel blessed with?
I'm blessed to have a healthy and happy husband and daughter who fully support my writing career.
What was your childhood ambition?
Originally I wanted to be a professional athlete, but I had an accident that injured both knees. Then I discovered acting in the school play and the light went off in my head. I wanted to be an actor. I was lucky to make that dream a reality and work in show business.
What is your favorite TV show?
Right now, I'm loving Smash. You can beat a good story that has amazing music and dance numbers every week. That kind of all around entertainment is hard to come by.
What career fields have you worked in?
I worked in show business for over twenty years as an actor and dialogue coach. I've worked mostly in television on dozens of sitcoms.
How do you mesh your personal and professional life?
So far so good, but I'm just starting out. I'm pretty much me wherever I am so what you see is what you get. I've had to juggle more speaking engagements, but luckily my family is awesomely supportive of my "author" time so nothing has gotten out of hand. Yet!
What are your plans for the summer? Any books you are looking forward to?
I'm hoping to get away for a quick weekend with my husband for our anniversary in early June, but other than that we don't have big plans.
I've got The Hunger Games on my night stand and I've been waiting to dive into that for weeks now. Can't wait to read it.
How was your road to publication? Have you every had to deal with rejection letters?
My road was fairly rocky. LOL. It took me ten years to get published. Yep, I've dealt with a ton of rejection letters. I knew I could succeed because not one rejection said the same thing and most were very positive. Everyone always had a different reason for the rejection so it was a matter of finding an editor that liked what I wrote.
Do you have a favorite time of the day? If so when and why
Pretty much anytime that isn't morning is my favorite part of the day. I am not, nor have I ever been, a morning person. I tend to get started when the sun goes down.
What has been the best way for you to engage readers?
I really enjoy face to face. I like talking to people. I wish I was better at Twitter, Facebook and blogging, but I'm doing my best to participate on those social media outlets.
What is the best thing about being an author?
I love writing characters and stories that other people find entertaining. There isn't much better in life than creating a fictional world/characters and drawing people in who want to be carried away.
My books are about ordinary people although some of them do have some extraordinary jobs. I like reading big stories so that's what I try to deliver. I realize I won't please all the people all the time, but I try and please most of the people as often as I can!
