Current Release: TRUST: A New Beginning
Describe your current release in two sentences?
Sophia, Ethan and Alistair are wealthy, good-looking, intelligent and successful in their own fields. But they all have deep scars from terrible events that happened in their lives, even ending with the death of a loved one. When they meet, on billionaire Europe, in late 2009 and early 2010, love, drama and jealousy ensue and their encounters will change their deepest certainties and alter their outlooks on life, as only love can.
What have you had to give up to pursue your writing career?
Hmmm... so many things. First, sleep... Then I had to give up my work as a lawyer. I was a full-time lawyer from 1991 to 2010. Among other things, I was specialized in cases of sexual abuse and violence against children and women. But, you know, I have gained so many, many good things that I miss any of those I have lost. And I don't plan to stop writing anymore.
What are you working on?
Well, by the end of April 2013, the second book of the trilogy, TRUST: BETRAYED is going to be released on e-book and paperback. New characters are going to appear and I will reveal many important events from the three leading characters' past.Their lives are going to be turned upside down and then again inside out. In Autumn 2013, the readers will be able to read the conclusion of the TRUST TRILOGY. I am already writing the third book, still untitled.
What is your ultimate writing goal?
I want to keep writing and bring rich, romantic and hot stories for those who like erotic romance, strong heroines and alpha males.
But, of course (!), I'd love to be a NYT best selling author, to figure on Amazon top 100 ebooks, see my book turned into a movie and if one of those big publishing house knocked at my door, I wouldn't send it away.
Do you have a comfort food? What is it?
Well, I love sweet things. Every kind of dessert appeals to me, specially those with cream and sauce, like the French pastries. And, of course, chocolate! But, really? There is nothing better than my homemade fluffy chocolate cake with chocolate fudge cover.
Where is your favorite place to write?
I have an office at home facing Copacabana beach. It‘s my favorite place to write. The view gives me great ideas. But I always carry a moleskine and a pen for sudden ideas. I can also write on my iPhone if I'm in traffic - don't worry I have a driver. I have a few writing habits. Lots of homemade ice-tea and music. Music has always had a big influence in my life. I played the piano when I was younger and I always listen to music, no matter what I am doing. When I started to write the trilogy, I made three lists on iTunes: one with classical music, one with alternative rock and another one with pop. Depending on my mood - or on the scene - I played one of them.
What are your plans for the next year? Any books you are looking forward to?
For the next years, I plan to publish more trilogies. I feel in love with writing and now I have many stories to tell. Next year for sure, I intend to write about the love stories of the other Santo siblings. I have already started Carolina's story, but a few fans have been asking for Felipe's to come first, since he is the older brother.
Stay tuned to find out!
How was your road to publication?
Although, I've always written, I never thought I would have so much ... to write. Maybe it's because I write about things I have experienced, and liked or disliked; be it in my own life or in my friends’ lives.
What started as a pastime, in a few days, turned into a huge project that involved much more than just writing as a hobby. When I started writing in February 2012, I used to spend more than 12 hours a day, weekends included - dedicating myself to the trilogy. Now that the first book is published, the second is coming out this month and the trilogy is all planned, I work at least 12 hours during the week and 6 hours at the weekends.
So, I wrote the book, edited it, than upload to the publishing house and... that was it.
Or so I thought. The problem started after: How do I make my book known?
What career fields have you worked in?
When I was a teenager, I want to be a painter and although I have a major in Fine Arts, I only painted as a hobby.
I was a full-time lawyer for twenty-two years and, among other things, I was specialized in abused women and children.
If you could time travel, where would you travel to and why?
Time travel... Humm. I guess I would go to eighteen century Europe, maybe Paris, London or Rome. I still have romantic notions about those times where women dressed well and men behave gentlemanly. Or... maybe not. Imagine: not electricity, no toilets or shower... No, thanks. I think I will stay right here on the twenty-first century.
