Ruby Red Metallic | Breathless Press | Erotic Romance | April 1, 2011
Alaina knows her cars and she doesn't view what she does for a living as stealing. Using all the physical attributes she has at her disposal, she merely acquires the high-end vehicles for a business partner.
Although the beautiful cars turn her on, she has her heart set on a particular gem. When she finds her jewel, Alaina is pleasantly surprised by its handsome owner, Scott.
Now she's faced with a dilemma. Does she choose the man or the gem?
Please describe your writing environment.
It looks very disorganized. I know exactly where everything is, honest, but to the untrained eye it just looks like a jumbled mess.
Please tell us your latest news!
I'm excited about the release of Ruby Red Metallic! It's my first contract with Breathless Press and my first story with a car thief. A female car thief.
Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?
I don't know that I can narrow it down to just one author. I'll pick one that has been an inspiration for me right from the start of my writing and that's Shelli Stevens. She's such a nice a person and very approachable. I like her work because it's easy to relate to the characters and their situations. I love her writer's voice.
Do you see writing as a career?
Oh yes, definitely!
Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?
I started writing when I was in the fourth grade. That's when I started to keep a journal. I started writing stories when I was in seventh grade and wrote my first children's story when I was in eighth grade.
What main genre do you write in?
Erotica / Spicy Romance
Do you plan all your characters out before you start a story or do they develop as you write?
A little of both. I try to get to know the characters as much as possible before I start writing, but they always surprise me with little things as I'm writing.
What's been the most challenging part of writing for you?
I would say sticking to a regular writing schedule. I work a day job and sometimes all that stuff gets in the way of my actual writing time.
Who has been your best supporter? How have they been there for you?
My friend, Moose Hannigan has been my best supporter so far. He gives me ideas, talks stories out with me, helps me with the male characters, gives me encouragement when I'm feeling down. He's wonderful.
What book are you reading now? What are your thoughts on it?
I just finished reading Laird of Darkness by Nicole North and I loved it. Hot, steamy, and romantic. Just the way I like it!
What inspires your writing?
A lot of things give me inspiration. It can be something small like walking down the street and an idea just comes to mind. Or it can be a suggestion from a friend or something that they did.
How many books do you plan on writing each year?
I'd like to write two a year, but that all depends on how life deals things out.
If you had to choose one person to have dinner with, who would it be? And why?
I'd like to have dinner with Lisa Fox and I'd let her choose the restaurant. Why Lisa? She knows how to pick a good restaurant and I think she'd be a lot of fun to get into trouble with.
Thanks for having me on Night Owl Romance!
