Current Release: Invitation to Ruin

Describe your current release in two sentences?

In order to find love - you must forgive yourself the sins of your past, and learn to love yourself. Love truly does conquor all.

What was your childhood ambition?

My childhood ambition was to run my own hotel. My step-grand-parents ran a beautiful old hotel in Rotorua (a tourist area in NZ) and on holidays I would pretend to run the hotel when I stayed there. I loved the atmosphere with everyone on holiday and having a wonderful time.

When I grew up I realized the long hours involved and the dream died.

What is the one thing you do not want to live without?

That's easy - my family and friends. Material things can be replaced, those close to you can't. The world really is a better place with love and friendship. Someone to share the joys and sorrows with. It's a lonely world with only toys.

Please describe your writing environment.

I love routine, so, even though I can write anywhere, I prefer to work in my study at home. I have a big desk and a comfortable chair. I prefer no noise or other distractions when I write.

New Zealand is a day ahead of the USA and first thing in the morning here, is about lunchtime in the USA. I usually start the morning with my must have cup of tea (not a coffee girl) answering emails and queries. An hour later I then start writing and write until lunchtime, take a break, write again until 3.30pm then go for an hour’s walk. I usually spend the hours before and just after dinner working on blogging, and other social media activities. It's a busy day but I love it.

What is your favorite TV show?

I have so many favorites at the moment - I love any program that stirs and feeds my imagination, and has sexy characters and chemistry. I love Games of Thrones, The Mentalist, Bones, Castle and The Vampire Diaries. Tall dark and handsome does it for me every time.

What are you working on?

I've just finished book one of a new Regency trilogy called Disgraced Lords. About a group of Lords forced to flee England in disgrace, and their drive to clear their names. It's sitting with my agent waiting to be shopped.

I've also just finished a 39,000 word novella, To Dare the Duke of Dangerfield, due out on 14th February.

I'm now working on book three in my INVITATION TO series, Richard Craven's story. He is the twin brother of Anthony Craven, the hero in my debut novel, INVITATION TO RUIN.

What are your plans for the summer? Any books you are looking forward to?

I'm having summer now! New Zealand's summer is December through to April. I had a two week break over Christmas and snuck up to the Hawke's Bay wine growing region of NZ with my sister for a girls break. Sun, food, wine and swimming pool. I took my trusty kindle and read some wonderful books by loads of authors.

I’m really looking forward to the third in the Cynster trilogy by Stephanie Lauren’s THE CAPTURE OF THE EARL OF GLENCRAE. Gaelen Foley’s My Ruthless Princes Book 4 of the Inferno Club series ~ Drake's story.

What is the best thing about being an author?

I love plotting out stories. I'm quite an organised person and I plot out each book thoroughly. I always say writing is 1/3 plotting 1/3 writing adn 1/3 editing. The fun part about writing for me is coming up with the stories adn cahracters.

If you had to choose one person to have dinner with, who would it be? And why?

I would like to have Barbara Cartland - what a character she is. Pink is also my favorite color, so we could co-ordinate the seating and table placements.

I suspect she has some amazing tales to tell of life in the English peerage and also about writing stories.

From Invitation to Scandal

Rufus ignored Rheda's futile attempts to break free of his grasp. She felt the anger emanating from every inch of his hard, lean body. What had he to be angry about? Anger perhaps at being caught. He was the one seducing her while sleeping with another.

Rufus didn’t speak until they reached the arbor. “My, my. Is the little wild cat jealous?”

“Why can’t a man be satisfied with only one woman. Why can’t he be true to her and only her?” She turned on him, her voice filled with scorn. “Why is one woman never enough?” He was exactly like her father. “Jealous? Hardly.”

“It may surprise you, hellion, that some women do find me attractive and will do anything to share my bed.”

“Lucky for me I’m not one of them. I’m not desperate enough to share.”

He moved in close enough for her to smell the masculinity that clung to him. “Seethe your claws,” he growled as if she were the one in the wrong. “If you were mine . . . I wouldn’t share, either.”

His grip tightened on her arm.

“I don’t know what right you’ve got to be angry,” Rheda said, her eyes darkening with pain. “I’m the one who’s just been made fun of by your paramour. What delightful tales about me did you share with her?”

He fought to speak normally, but his voice emerged sharp and brittle. “Lady Umbridge is not my mistress. Not now. Not ever. She’s the last woman I’d ever share a bed with.”

“I see. Fancy that, a rake with taste.” Rheda made a scoffing sound beside him. Her mouth straightened into an unhappy line. “I don’t believe you. No wonder you found my feeble attractions wanting last night.”

God, how wrong could she be? He’d wanted her with a hunger that made his stomach and every part of him ache to possess her. “Wanting? I’ve wanted no woman as much as I want you. I did not indulge my fantasy of ravishing you last night for several reasons. None of them involved worrying about a relationship with Lady Umbridge. I have none. She is Lord Worthington’s mistress, if you must know.”

She shook her head and raised a hand to keep her wind-tossed hair from her eyes. “Why would Fleur intimate otherwise?” He couldn’t mistake the disbelief in her face. She turned away. He cupped her chin and forced her to look at him. “It does not matter to me who you share a bed with.” The wind whipped at her low words, so he had to lean closer to hear. A dizzying waft of her scent mixed with the fragrance radiating from the rows of flowers made his nostrils flare in response.

She gasped.

If you could live in a world created by an author, which book / world would you jump into?

The kick arse side of me says Kresley Cole, Immortals After Dark. The pampered side of me says Stephanie Lauren's Cynster series.

I hope if you read one of my books, you'll drop me a line to let me know you enjoyed them. Writing is more of a passion for me than a job. I love bringing stories to life and introducing characters to the world. Entertainment is a very rewarding business to be in. I met and made some marvelous friends along the way.
