Current Release: Dreams of Reality

Describe your current release in two sentences?

Elizabeth receives the shock of her life and, doesn't know whether to be freaked out or thrilled her dreams are in fact reality.

Please describe your writing environment.

I have an extra bedroom in my house that serves for just about everything I'd like to keep but don't have room for anywhere else. My computer sits next to an exercise bike, a boxed Christmas tree, a bookshelf and free weights. I'm sorry to say the bike and weights stay at a safe distance.

What are you working on?

I'm currently working on two stand alone humor romances. One is paranormal and one is very human.

What do you feel blessed with?

Oh my gosh. That's children. Although I've been happily married to a wonderful and supportive husband, my son, 25 and my daughter, 20 are my life.

What was your childhood ambition?

Believe it or not it wasn't an author. I wanted to be a nurse.

If you had to choose one person to have dinner with, who would it be? And why?

Wow, another hard question. I think it would have to be Johnny Depp. He is the most fascinating and mysterious person. Such an incredible and diverse actor. Laura Bush would also be at the top of my list. She is so elegant and has such an enormous heart. However, on the lighter side, it would have to be comedian, Kathleen Madigan, Totally makes my side hurt from laughing.

What is your favorite TV show?

I love comedy so at the present, I'd have to say Modern Family. But I do love King of Queens. I also do not miss Criminal Minds. I love when they have a Criminal Minds Marathon. The reruns are just as awesome as the new episodes.

What career fields have you worked in?

I have been an Administrative Assistant for a very long time (we won't get into the exact number of years), working mostly for Engineers. For the last twelve years, I've worked for an Electrical Engineering Contractor and feel blessed to have a desk there.

Where do you want to travel?

I would love to visit Ireland and Scotland. Every photograph I've seen is just breathtaking. I can only imagine what the beauty would be like in person. Also, you gotta love the accent!

How do you mesh your personal and professional life?

My personal life comes first. If everything is where it needs to be for the present, then I sit and write.

What are your plans for the summer? Any books you are looking forward to?

I have a couple of beach (Gulf Coast) vacations planned. Absolutely love the beach. When I make the first million from my Dreams Trilogy, that will be my first purchase--a beach house..haha I have a couple of Dorothea Benton Frank books that have been sitting on my end table and can't wait to open them. She is one of my favorite authors.

How was your road to publication? Have you every had to deal with rejection letters?

I've definitely had my share of rejection letters. I have a spreadsheet to prove it. It can be very discouraging. You really have to grow some thick skin along the way and remember not to take the rejections as a personal attack. On the other hand this has been a true learning experience. Once in a while I pull out my spreadsheet and marvel at how far I have come.

Do you have a favorite time of the day? If so when and why

I'd have to say the morning. I'm always the first one up at my house and treasure the hour or so of quiet time with my coffee.

What is the one thing you do not want to live without?

Oh my...that would be my coffee. But I do love my white wine and dry martini's...haha

What has been the best way for you to engage readers?

Night Owl Reviews of course! Online marketing is an endless vocation. I'm not that computer savvy, but have managed to create a website and have stayed quite busy researching other avenues. I'm hoping to have my Facebook Fan Page up soon. Also bookmarks, business cards and any type of giveaway (including free books/e-books)

What is the best thing about being an author?

It's a little weird trying to grasp the fact you have actually published a book(s). I don't think it has sunk in all the way. But so far, the best thing has been the compliments. So many people (female and male) have told me how great Dreams of Reality - Book 1 of the Dreams Trilogy, is and want a sneak peek at Book 2 (which will be out July1). It's very exciting.

If you could time travel, where would you travel to and why?

That's easy. 1950's. I love that era. The music (Motown) was awesome, not to mention the fashion. The cars were pretty cool too. But mostly, it just seemed so simple and laid back. I know there were issues/problems just like we have today but the human heart seemed to be more considerate and caring.

If you could live in a world created by an author, which book / world would you jump into?

Mine of course!...haha My second choice would be ''Gone With The Wind". Mainly so I could meet Rhet!

I'd like to say to anyone who is thinking about writing or is in the process of submitting their manuscript. Never, never give up. Everyone has a different voice and there are readers out there who will love that voice. But always remember, there will be more than a few who will not love it and that's okay. Your words are your own and can never be taken from you. Also, do what is best for you and your manuscript. It's okay to be different instead of the 'norm'
