Current Release: Carry Your Heart

Describe your current release in two sentences?

Champion skier Pippa Baker lost everything in the avalanche: her boyfriend, his best friend, and her will to win. When she returns to competition she meets Hunter Dawson, a heartbreaking daredevil with the gold medals to prove it. But she doesn't know if she can risk her heart again...

What have you had to give up to pursue your writing career?

A few dinners with friends, a little bit of sleep, and a LOT of trips to the gym. It's really easy for me to choose writing over running. :)

What are you working on?

I am working on a contemporary new adult romance called CRASH INTO ME. The characters are college students, not professional athletes, and I'm aiming to have that out in July/August.

What is your ultimate writing goal?

To connect with as many readers as I can, and to write fun, meaningful stories.

Do you have a comfort food? What is it?

Ben & Jerry's cookies and cream ice cream. I ate a pint last night. It was heaven.

Where is your favorite place to write?

There's a little nook in my apartment in New York that overlooks 8th Avenue. I like to curl up there and watch all the people walking around.

What career fields have you worked in?

Finance, publishing, and retail.

What are your plans summer plans? Any books you are looking forward to?

My plans for the summer are going to revolve around skipping as much work and drinking as much Sangria as I can get away with. :) I'm excited for so many different books! I know M. Leighton has something coming out this summer and I'm a fan of hers!

How was your road to publication?

I decided to go the independent route as soon as I finished my first draft. I knew I was just way too impatient to submit to agents and then wait!

If you could time travel, where would you travel to and why?

OMG! So many places...but, if I had to pick one, since I live in New York, I would absolutely love to see what it was like before the city was built, so the early 1600s. New York City would be these lush, green islands and it's impossible to imagine because it's such a concrete jungle now.

If you could live in a world created by an author, which book / world would you jump into?

Harry Potter. I would totally relive middle school to go to Hogwarts. (There are absolutely no other circumstances under which I would relive middle school.)

Thanks so much for reading! Look out for CRASH INTO ME this summer, and I would love to hear from you so check out my website and twitter!
