Current Release: Until Next Time

Describe your current release in two sentences?

Matt and Emily were created for a specific job, yet they had no idea that the world of human emotions would toss them into a state of utter confusion. From murder to redemption, this angel/warrior team must ultimately find a way to keep the faith they have in each other, in a world that’s ripping them apart.

Do you have a favorite time of the day? If so when and why

I love daybreak. It's then when the world hasn;t quite gotten up, and it feels like it's only me enjoying that sunrise over the desert. It is also a pleasure to know that I have been given another day to enjoy my daughter, my life, my writing - everything!

What was your childhood ambition?

From the age of thirteen, when my family had to suffer through a horrific vacation where we stayed with friends in a house where the cat was in charge - literally - I wanted to be a writer. On that trip I actually finished my first book called, My Life: A Comedy and a Tragedy. Although it still sits in a drawer in my house, I have a feeling that any and all teenagers would be able to understand the plight I was going through at the time. LOL.

If you could time travel, where would you travel to and why?

I would absolutely love to go to Egypt and walk into the Library of Alexandria when it was still standing. Just hearing about the cubbyholes full of scrolls that were hand-writen for the masses - it would just be thrilling for me. I am a librarian lover and still daydream of being allowed to live in the NYPL. Patience, Fortitude and me!

Please describe your writing environment.

My office has emerald walls and soft lighting - just what I need to disappear from the real world for a while. Although my huge, black dog sits beside me as I type, my environment is extremely quiet, so as NOT to miss one word that my character's have to say :)

What is your favorite TV show?

I actually haven't liked TV since Jack Bauer disappeared from the screen. But, Once Upon a Time has taken me by surprise. Although I'm not into fairytales, it is a fantastic show and the writers are beyond creative, seeing as that they have to turn old, well-known stories into a new, 'hip' way of looking at life. I also love the actor who plays Rumpelstiltskin.

What are you working on?

I have just completed, and am now in the editing stage of Book II of The Angel Chronicles. I am also finishing up Book Five of an adult adventure series titled, Tallent & Lowery. The first book in this series, 13, has been extremely well-received - so I'm looking forward to that being the next project to 'soar.'

How was your road to publication? Have you every had to deal with rejection letters?

God, yes. As the owner of The Write Companion I help a great deal of debut authors get on their feet, and I always tell them not to simply give up and throw the MS into a desk just because of a rejection letter - or twenty, for that matter. Stephen King and many authors have been very vocal about the fact that for a good, long time no agent or publisher would even touch them. And I am quite sure that now they really regret their decision.

What has been the best way for you to engage readers? Face to Face / Chatting Online / Twitter / Facebook / Blogging

The greatest thing about this world is the technology, even though I get a little tired of cell phones. I am a huge proponent of Twitter, Facebook, Blogs, etc. - these are really great ways to be able to talk with many people and get their feedback on your books, discuss your heroes and heroines, and just get to know your readers. I really love that!

If you had to choose one person to have dinner with, who would it be? And why?

Simply because I have a feeling, after all the interviews he's done and the hysterical newsletter he puts out, that I would love to have dinner with Dean Koontz. That would be a great, fun time.

If you could live in a world created by an author, which book / world would you jump into?

This sounds like a very easy answer but I absolutely love Hogwarts. I mean, come on...wands, invisibility cloaks, friends, fun - even the bad stuff was extremely amazing! Harry Potter is definitely a friend I'd like to have!

I am so happy that young people have come back to books in droves, and I am very happy to see that the 'winged ones' are starting to give the 'fanged ones' a run for their money :) I hope everyone dives into the world of Until Next Time and really enjoys the characters, the friendships, the adventure and the love triangle. Perhaps there will one day be a Team Matt versus a Team Jason! I already know who I would pick.
