Hello A. W.,
The girls of Night Owl Romance are pleased that you have granted us an interview
We would love to get to know you
Could you please start by telling us a little about yourself?
I am a screenwriter, lyricist and novelist living in California. Blood Moon is my first book and the beginning of the Witches Moon Series.
If you could be one of your characters - Who would you be? And why?
In many ways there is a little of me in all of my characters, but if I had to choose one to embody it would be Amelia. Her passion, depth and magical abilities are extraordinary.
Who or what influences you when you write?
Everyone and everything within the world of the story influences me when I'm writing. Blood Moon takes place primarily in London, with a brief stint in San Francisco. After I decided, generally, what I wanted the story to be about, I spent time in both cities and let them take me over in terms of the story and the characters. In that regard I was influenced by everything from amazing art, to significant landmarks, to a stranger sitting next to me on a red bus.
What do you do on a typical writing day?
On a typical writing day I'm wide-awake with an idea at the crack of dawn. I take enough time to make a pot of coffee and something to eat, and then I work non-stop for five or six hours. At that point I either call it a day or take a nap for a second wind and a few more hours of writing in the afternoon. When I'm done I unplug with a little TV and a nice dinner, then I get to bed early so I can get up and do the same thing the next day. Very glamorous.
When you have writer's block how do you break free?
I don't want to jinx myself, but I've never had it. I've had hard days and days that I wanted to write, but nothing hit me, but I've never experienced true writers block.
Can you please give us a sneak peek at any of your upcoming books?
All that I can say about the coming books in the Witches Moon Series is that there are a lot of surprises, exotic locations and the beginnings of an unexpected love affair.
In 5 years, where do you see yourself? In general and in you're writing career.
Writing another book in the Witches Moon Series... from a castle in Ireland... and pondering Amelia's next adventure over a glass of Pierre Jouet....
Who is your perfect hero? And why?
I'm not sure I have a perfect hero, but one of my favorite parts of getting to know my characters is discovering the hero in each of them no matter how big or small that hero is.
Do deadlines help or hinder your muse?
Realistic deadlines are very helpful. I put them on myself all the time. Unrealistic deadlines are, and always have been, counter productive for me.
What is the best and worst advice you have ever received?
Best advice - Never let anyone or anything stand in your way. Worst Advise - Wait for someone else to... [Fill In The Blank].
How can readers find out more about you and your books?
I keep my website (www.awgryphon.com) and my MySpace page up to date and I always love visitors!
Thank you for this opportunity!
