Interview

Current Release: Burned - June 10, 2014

What's your book about?

Burned is an erotic romance/suspense about misplaced trust and second chances:

Seventeen years old when he broke my heart.
Seventeen days later when another picked up the pieces.
Seventeen years together.
Seventeen thousand problems.
Seventeen days of reliving my past and finding a new future.
Seventeen minutes until it all went up in flames.
Seventeen breaths until I took my last.
This is my story…and it’s going to burn.

What should readers expect from you titles?

A range of different romance genres! I currently write comedy, suspense and erotica and I'm looking forward to tackling even more genres in the coming year.

What's your writing process like?

I always say I'm going to do an outline, but I rarely do. An outline to me feels like a cage that I'll be stuck inside of. I'll take a few notes about where I want the story to go and then figure out the rest as I start writing. I've recently started using notecards to write down a basic summary of what each chapter will be about and I tack them on my giant dry-erase board in my office, crossing them off as I go. I change my mind so frequently about my stories that it's nice to be able to just wing it as I go. One thing I always do, though, is fill out an extensive character profile for each person. Height, weight, hair color, eye color, likes, dislikes, birthdate, favorite color, favorite food, etc.

What's next for you as an author?

I'm looking forward to taking on more genres and working outside the box. I'd really like to try my hand at a psychological thriller soon.

Do you feel music has inspired your writing?

Music plays a big part in my writing. I can hear a song and then come up with an entire story with just a few words from the chorus. I make playlists for each of my books and listen to them religiously as I write.

What's your everyday life like? Do you write full-time or do you also hold another job?

I've been writing full-time now for about a year and a half. I am not good with schedules AT ALL so my days vary. They mostly include waking up, vowing to get a lot of work done if it kills me, getting distracted by Facebook, answer a few emails, "Ooooh 'Humans Acting Like Dogs' video - must watch now!", write a few paragraphs of my current work-in-progress, "Hey, Saved by the Bell is on!"...lather, rinse, repeat.

What is your favorite or most fun place to shop online?

I am addicted to Rebel Circus.

They have pinup, punk-rock clothing that is to die for!

Wrapping Up:

I would be nothing without my loyal readers! They are the absolute best and I wish I could give each and every one of them great big hugs!
