Hi Monica. Thanks for stopping in and chatting with us. Please tell us about your book "Bound by Water".

Bound by Water is the story of Atreides, the last of the merman shifters. Calling Rome his home, Atreides is a famous painter who collaborates with the police to recover stolen art. One night, he meets Ariel, a beautiful human who stirs his senses as no woman has ever done before. Imagine Atreides' surprise when he discovers that the mortal he can't stop thinking about is not only his mate but also an art thief. Will he deliver Ariel to the police? Or will he listen to his heart? Doing the right thing has never been so complicated. Bound by Water is part of the Zodiac Shifters paranormal romance series.

What is your writing place like?

My writing place is composed by a desk facing a large window in my living room. Plenty of natural light and the chirps of birds accompany me during the day. Thanks to my adjustable desk, I've recently switched from sitting to standing, and I like it because it forces me to move more. I write full time and need a tidy environment to concentrate, so besides my curved monitor and keyboard, the only other items on my desk are my research books--at the moment, I'm studying the Regency era--and a stack of white papers where I scribble my notes.

Is your home a place of order or chaos?

Although it isn't always possible to have a tidy house, I need order to function.

When it comes to your first draft, do you write via computer or notepad? or Both?

I write everything via computer.

Do you have any kids? Has your writing inspired them to read / write?

I have two adult kids who have read a few of my stories. They both enjoy writing, but I don't think I've inspired them in that regard.

What's next for you as an author?

At the moment, I am working on A Wolf's Hunger: Ax, a story set in the shared world of A K Michaels, and I'm very excited to collaborate with such an awesome author. Later in the year, I'm planning to write a Regency novel.

Do you like to cook?

I love it! In my stories, my characters like to cook and bake, and a few times, I had them go through all the steps of a recipe.

Do you have a newsletter?

Yes, I do!

Do you have any pets? If yes, do your pets play a part in your writing?

I have a beagle, my beloved Nero, who is my shadow as I write. He keeps me company during the day, and he also stars in a few stories.

What's your favorite restaurant?

I love sushi and dim sum, and I'm not above traveling a few hours to try a new restaurant.

At what point did you know you wanted to publish a book?

It was several years ago, I had just finished writing my sixth novel and realized it was about time I hit the publishing button. Before it happened though, I hired four different editors and a few proofreaders because I was terrified to let my story out.

What is our favorite drink?

At the moment, kombucha, especially the ginger and lime flavored one.

What's your day job like?

I write all day long, sometimes from dawn to dusk. When I am not writing, I'm researching or marketing.

What place is on the top of your to travel to list?

Japan. I'm fascinated by anything Japanese, and I hope to be able to visit that incredible nation soon.

What genres do you write in and what inspired you to write in these genres?

I write love stories in every shade of romance, from science fiction to paranormal, and oftentimes I mix genres. Love inspires me, and I'd like to see more of it in the world because life can be hard, and in the end, love is all that matters.

Thanks so much for sharing with us.
