Hi L.E.! Awesome to have you over to chat about paranormal romance and your career. Please tell us all about your latest Deathless Night book, "Blood Submission".
"Blood Submission" is the 5th book in my Amazon bestselling Deathless Night Series. It's the story of Dante Gabor, a true vampire who has no use at all for humans, until he meets Laney Moss - his fated mate. Even then, it takes quite a bit of convincing to get him to see her worth. :) Blood Submission is a dark romance, and not for readers who don't like high heat levels.
At what point did you know you wanted to publish a book?
I'm not gonna lie, I never dreamed of being an author. But then back in 2013, while listening to my critiques of what I was currently reading, my husband goaded me into trying my hand at writing one (he's the entrepreneur). Taking it for the blatant dare that it was, I told him that maybe I would, and I quite literally flounced out of the room. Grabbing my mango hard lemonade, I hit the pool and started mulling it over. An hour later I had a rough outline of the first two books of the Deathless Night Series, and I published Blood Hunger in December of 2014. Two years and seven books later, I have discovered my true passion. Now my family has a hard time getting me off of my laptop. LOL.
Is your home a place of order or chaos?
That all depends on how close I am to deadline. :D
What genres do you write in and what inspired you to write in these genres?
I write adult Paranormal Romance. I have always been a voracious reader, both of romance (mostly Historical) and of other genres (mostly paranormal and thriller like Anne Rice and Steven King). So imagine my delight when I discovered the world of Paranormal Romance! I think J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series was the first series I found, soon followed by many others. And when I began writing, it was a no-brainer.
What is our favorite drink?
I cannot work without my white peach tea. It's an addiction.
What is your writing place like?
I have a little office at my house that looks out into our "backyard". We live on a mountain in the Pacific Northwest, and my window looks out over the greenbelt of huge pine and maple trees. Once in a while, I'll walk down to my favorite Starbucks and throw all of my money at them for lattes.
What's next for you as an author?
Right now I'm working on a brand new trilogy and a set of short stories. At least I think they're going to be short stories, lol. I'm a total pantser when I write, so we'll see. They may be longer. Also in the works is the 6th book in my Deathless Night Series and the 3rd book in my Kincaid Werewolves series. And somewhere in there, I have an idea for a stand alone that I really want to start writing. :D
