Hi Vicki! Thanks for joining us today. What is "Moonspell" about?
Moonspell is a sexy, light-hearted romp about a confirmed bachelor coming to terms with his feelings about the new woman in his life. Hardly a novice in the dating world, Reed has been around the block more than a few times, and he has a fairly cynical view of man/woman relationships. Only Cupid has a surprise in store for him this time. Soon Reed finds himself head over heels for a gorgeous werewolf he can't resist -- only he doesn't know she's a werewolf until it's far too late to protect his heart. He's stunned and heartsick when he finally learns the shocking truth about Marin's heritage. The thought of her beautiful body stretching and morphing into an animal is more than he can stand. But true love often takes some serious soul-searching before one can clearly see the way, not to mention that every relationship has some obstacles to overcome. Reed must decide if he can accept Marin the way she is, or forfeit the only woman to ever capture his heart.
What is your writing place like?
I have an office in my house, which also serves as a playroom for my grandchildren when they visit, with a big desk, my iMac desktop, and two large windows to let in plenty of light. I also have a sofa and small HD TV in my office for those moments when I need a distraction. Which is surprisingly often!
Do you have any kids? Has your writing inspired them to read / write?
I have two grown daughters and two adorable grandchildren. Both of my daughters love to read, and one of them (my writer) dreams of writing a screen play one day. Or should I say, completing one. She has at least one partially written. My seven-year-old granddaughter also loves to read and write, and says she wants to be a writer just like Grandma when she grows up!
What's next for you as an author?
First on my agenda is finishing the third book in my series, Moonrise. My publisher has asked if I want to be part of a "themed" series, where different authors write stories set in and around a certain theme or location, ie a medical center. I've never done anything like that before, and it might be fun to give it a try.
Do you have a newsletter? If yes, where can readers sign up?
Readers can sign up for my newsletter on my website. There's a button that takes you straight to the sign-up form. I usually send out a newsletter every 2 to 3 months, or so.
What place is on the top of your to travel to list?
My family and I love Hawaii, especially Maui. We go there almost every summer and stay at our favorite condo for two weeks. I also love traveling in Europe, especially Great Britain, where most of my ancestors are from. I'd love to do a genealogy trip someday. My last big trip was to Scotland and Ireland, and it was fantastic!!
What genres do you write in and what inspired you to write in these genres?
I write single-title contemporary romance and paranormal romance. Moonspell is the second in my "Moon" series. The first book is Once in a Blue Moon, and I'm hard at work now on the third book in the series, tentatively titled Moonrise. I love contemporary because of the endless plotting ideas available. You can go almost anywhere with it, and the same goes for paranormal--although my stories are what I call 'light' paranormal. So far I haven't dived too deeply into the 'other-wordly' stuff. My characters are firmly set in the here and now.
Anything else you would like to share?
I love being a writer, and I love being a part of the Romance community. We have the very best readers and writers in the world!
It's been a pleasure having you here.
Thank you so much for allowing me to share a little bit about myself and my books in this interview. Touching bases with readers is the most fun ever!!
