Tammie King here. Today I had the chance to interview Julie Ann Walker. She has a couple successful series already. Hell or High Water (The Deep Six, #1) starts a new series and released on 7/7. On 9/1 Too Hard to Handle - Black Knights Inc., #8 releases.
Hi Julie Ann. What can readers expect from your books?
All the good stuff. Action and adventure, romance and hot love scenes, danger and intrigue, alpha heroes and the spunky heroines who bring them to their knees, humor and heart, and a satisfying finish that leaves readers longing for more. Even if I do say so myself. *wink*
Are you an abs or butt woman?
Oh, butt all the way. I can handle a bear of a man with a bit of a belly and some love handles if he has a high, tight tush that I can bounce a quarter off of. Yes, in the timeless words of Sir Mix-A-Lot, I like big butts and I cannot lie.
What should every motorcycle have?
A set of pipes, of course. Because what's a badass bike without the accompanying sound of rolling thunder?
What inspired you to write romantic suspense with motorcycles and men (Black Knights Inc.)?
Well, I decided to write romantic suspense because I think it's the perfect mash-up of genres. It's got the intrigue of a thriller. The whodunnit of a mystery. The swoon-worthy, heart flutters of a romance. And the adventure of an action novel. I decided to make my heroes former military men because who doesn't love a man in uniform? And I threw in motorcycles because... um... soooo sexy. *nudge, nudge*
If you could attend any sports event, what would you attend?
I am a diehard Chicago Cubs fan. So my dream -- fingers crossed -- is to one day see the Cubs play in the World Series. They haven't won it all in over 100 years, so it might be a pipe dream. Then again, maybe they're due, right? Go, Cubs!
Your BKI heroes have traveled all over the world. What is a favorite place you like to go?
I love to travel. My husband and I are currently working on a bucket list to visit 100 countries before we die. We've hit 46 so far and every single one has been awesome and unique and memorable in its own way. But the country I'd visit over and over again is probably Ireland. I love the culture. The way everyone heads down to the pub after work to tell stories, drink stout, and sing along to live music. It's a beautiful island filled with beautiful, friendly folks.
About the Book: Too Hard To Handle - Romantic Suspense
"The Man" is back
Dan "The Man" Currington is back in fighting form with a mission that takes him four thousand miles south of BKI headquarters, high in the Andes Mountains of Peru. He's hot on the trail of a rogue CIA agent selling classified government secrets to the highest bidder, when Penni DePaul arrives on the scene. Suddenly the stakes are higher, and keeping Penni safe becomes Dan's number one priority.
And this time she's ready
A lot has changed since former Secret Service Agent Penni DePaul last saw Dan. Now a civilian, she's excited about what the future might hold. But before she can grab onto that future with both hands, she has to tie up some loose ends-namely, Dan Currington, the man she just can't forget. And a secret that's going to change both their lives-if they can stay alive, that is.
Thanks for joining us Julie Ann Walker.
