Hi Hope. Thanks for visiting with us at Night Owl Reviews. We hear your latest book is, Deadly Ever After (the Black Angel Book, #2). What's your book about?
Deadly Ever After (the Black Angel Book, #2) is a New Adult paranormal love story. Once upon a time, there was the wandering soul of Morgann, an 8th century Irish calligrapher-monk longing to be reunited with his soulmate and forbidden love, Deirdre, a witch. After being apart for centuries, their hosts are eager to find a way to make their own unorthodox fairytale happen. New York is their playground this time. Will they finally live their deadly wicked fairytale and find their own happily ever after? This is a continuous story. It is highly suggested to read Twice Upon A Time (Book 1) before starting Deadly Ever After (Book 2).
What should readers expect from you titles?
There are several words that have been used to describe my debut novel and I believe that define what I’m trying to achieve with that series: a unique and different kind of read, a roller coaster kind of read where the characters are flawed, thus relatable. It’s a continuous series so the pacing picks up as the story unfolds and the characters grow in your everyday environment but sprinkled with paranormal. The series isn’t heavy paranormal but the lead female is a clueless witch whose powers awaken step by step. As for the romance aspect, there are twist and turns in this unorthodox fairytale with a variation of happy for now and eventually a happily ever after at some point in the series.
What is your favorite way to procrastinate?
Read on my Kindle.
If you could have dinner with an author, who would it be?
As a French citizen and an author writing in English, I would love to thank S.E. Hinton for being my inspiration. She wrote the first book that I’ve read in English, The Outsiders. After reading that book I decided that I wanted to go and live in the US. That’s what I did several years later although I’ve never been to Tulsa where the book takes place. I lived close enough since I graduated with an MBA from Texas. I would love to have dinner with her.
Do you feel music has inspired your writing?
It most certainly has. I chose songs as titles for each chapter of the series. A playlist is available on YouTube for each book. Music has always been part of my writing ritual since I need my headphones and music blasting to set the mood of a chapter. Certain songs or artists go on repeat.
Are you an introvert or extrovert?
Definitely an introvert.
What's next for you as an author?
Now that I have completed the first two installments in the Black Angel Book series, I am currently editing the third draft of Once Upon A Dream (the Black Angel Book, #3), it will soon be released in 2016. Then I’ll begin writing the first draft of the final installment in the series, Madly Ever After. I hope it will be released later this year.
I have met some wonderful people throughout my journey as a debut indie author. I’m glad for the support and the enthusiasm the readers, bloggers and my fellow authors have shown me so far.
It has been a pleasure having you on.
