Hi Darlene! It's a joy to have you over today to discuss "Winter's Kiss" and your life. What is "Winter's Kiss" about?

It's a return to Redford Falls where a woman doesn't want to be there and a man who doesn't want her to leave.

What should readers expect from you titles?

Romance, fun, family, town connections, beautiful scenery, page turner.

What's next for you as an author?

I'm currently writing the third book in my Redford Falls series. This book is set in the spring and is a page-turner about the secrets from a past family feud.

What is your favorite way to procrastinate?

My game ap, Farm Heroes. It's the only one I play and it's a terrible time sucker, but I'm addicted. I had to force an intervention and now I only play on weekends or I'd never get any work done.

Getting a book to market often takes a village. Who has helped you on the way?

My beta group. Without their second set of eagle eyes to catch the typos and to give their input on a scene, my manuscript wouldn't be as polished for my managing editor's eyes. And a book doesn't become a hit without the reader. I cherish the readers who follow my books.

What's a writing day like for you?

There is no set schedule as daily life tends to get in the way. I start my day with a bit of house cleaning then a walk with the dog. Then I check email and a few social media sites. The late morning and afternoon is when the writing takes place. I'm not usually on the computer in the evening, but I got a new tablet for Christmas, which means I can get notes typed and a few scene ideas to make the writing process more efficient.

What's your best vacation experience?

I love visiting the Annapolis Valley, which my family does a few times during the spring, summer, and fall. We rented a cottage last summer and had a great time. There's nothing better than sitting on the deck overlooking the lake and hearing the loons. I enjoy living in the city, but the peacefulness of the Valley makes everyday stress disappear. The setting of my Redford Falls series is based on the Valley.

Thanks so much Darlene for visiting with us.
