The Passion of Being a Writer by Susanne Chapman (Romance Author University)
I have been writing stories and poems for years now. I love writing and the freedom it gives me to express myself.
Creating my characters and weaving their adventures is great. I feel as if I know all of them so well, they're special friends.
There are so many good writers out there; it's wonderful when one of our stories is given a chance to shine. Writing is truly a release for me, I can become my characters, like an actress, give them meaning, life and feelings. They can do anything and go anywhere they wish, it's all in the ink!
Anyone, anywhere can do it, all that's needed is the passion and a little quiet time, which is probably the hardest thing to achieve! The power of the imagination is a wonderful tool, and I try to use it to its full extent.
Reading and discussing books is one of life's pleasures we can all relate to. So often I'm told that would make a fantastic film, and it's a huge compliment to think my characters have such life in them.
I'm a member of a great little writing club, the Grimsby Writers, which has inspired and helped me, supporting and encouraging me to send my stories to publishers.
‘Books To Go Now’ is a traditional publisher and has published my first novella, ‘Lighten Up Your Life’ and it’s available from their website and also on Amazon.
It’s an entertaining read about dieting, love and a serious boot camp for slimmers!
It's best read with a glass of wine and bar of favourite chocolate...or cup of tea and cupcake!
I am so excited, this is a dream come true for me, and my friends have helped me celebrate my first real success.
I am so grateful and happy that I can bring out a smile, a giggle or even a tear or two and take readers out of their own lives for a while, to escape between the pages of an entertaining and uplifting story.

I’m forty seven, have a great husband and an even greater dog.
I live near the Humber Bridge; have lots of hobbies and love going to the cinema. I like being taken out of myself for a couple of hours.
I’m a housewife and part time fundraiser for pet charities.
I’m a member of a local writing group which encourages and inspires me to carry on. I love watching the reactions on my fellow writer’s faces when they read my stories. It ranges from laughing to horror stricken.
I have had my first story published by Books To Go Now and feel as if the world is my oyster!
I have so many ideas and thoughts rattling around in my head.
I had a short story published online last October and won a local writing competition in the summer.
Jenny and Heidi are determined to win the battle of the bulge. So it's down to the local slimming club, where lasagna and cheesecake are strictly off the menu and there's no escaping the scales. But calorie-counting isn't the only thing on their minds.
Heidi finds herself a different man every week, but none of them are available. There’s no commitment dating married men and she savours being a mistress. Jenny has a steady boyfriend, Jim, who proposes, but she frequently blushes in the company of her boss.
Amanda is the leader,as the women try to stick to their diet, in time for the Slimmer of the Year Awards.
But with tempting food on offer at every turn, office parties with lots of champagne and an interfering mother-in-law, it's anyone's guess as to what will happen.
