A Letter to My Awesome Readers
To My Awesome Readers,
I can’t believe it! Couldn’t Ask For More has finally hit shelves, both virtual and at bookstores everywhere. To say I’m excited to have you read this book would be a gross understatement. So much of my blood, sweat, and tears went into this book. Mostly tears, if we’re being honest here. I wrote it during one of the most difficult times in my life.
During much of the drafting and editing process of this book, I was experiencing a sense of crushing dread. My dear, sweet husband, the man who inspired every hero I’ve written, was due to deploy overseas. I turned the book over to my editor about six weeks before he left and dealt with edits during those dark first few months of his absence, which was very deeply felt.
The children and I “soldiered on” through 286 days without him. I slept very little, pouring that time into my children, redecorating my home, overhauling my diet, and writing. I spent many a dark hour sitting at my computer, chasing away the worry by putting my fingers to the keyboard. You see, on my computer screen, I was in control. My characters were under my domain, and my power was absolute. I needed that; the real world was vastly different.
Having gone through the entire deployment with two young, special needs children, I can look back on that time now, and be amazed at what I accomplished. And Couldn’t Ask For More is one of the things I’m most proud of from that harrowing experience. It’s a fake engagement story with a twist—everything is on the heroine’s terms. Alexis is no pushover, and if Bryan is going to win her, for keeps, he’ll have to work for it.
Some of you have been with me since my very first book in 2009. Some of you may just be joining the journey today. Wherever you came in, let me express my immense gratitude. It’s because of readers like you that I get to do the thing I love most for a career. Telling stories is part of who I am, I’ve been writing them since I could put pen to paper. By reading my books, you give life to my characters and help me support my family. And that’s why I think you’re so awesome.
All the Best,
Couldn't Ask for More - The Southern Gentlemen, #2
Fake engagements are a dangerous business.
Bryan James's job is on thin ice unless he can secure a contract with a popular design house. He knows his best friend's sister can help—but her terms are more than he bargained for.
Alexis Devers's debut fashion line is a hit. But when Alexis's publicist tells buyers that it landed her a wealthy, gorgeous fiancé, Alexis needs to come up with one—fast. Bryan's offer to strike a deal is perfectly timed. She's more than willing—on one condition...
It's the perfect plan...until feelings start getting in the way. Suddenly, the dangers of mixing business and pleasure become much more real than either of them expected.
This giveaway is over. The lucky winner is posted in the comments.
Like any good Southern belle, Kianna Alexander wears many hats: loving wife, doting mama, advice-dispensing sister, and gabbing girlfriend. She's a voracious reader, an amateur seamstress and occasional painter in oils. Chocolate, American history, sweet tea and Idris Elba are a few of her favorite things. A native of the TarHeel state, Kianna still lives there with her husband, two kids, and a collection of well-loved vintage 80's Barbie dolls.
