I guess I should start with an introduction. Actually, I am rather boring, spending most of my time, these days, writing. My name is Deborah Macgillivray, I am an author for Kensington Books (Medieval Historicals - A Restless Knight, 2006; In Her Bed, 2007) and Dorchester's Love Spell line (Contemporary Paranormal Romances - The Invasion of Falgannon Isle, 2006; Riding the Thunder, 2007). Both are a series. I also have an anthology out, Cat O' Nine Tales.
The Kensington books are the "Dragons of Challon" about sexy knights (is there any other kind?...lol) and the Love Spell books are the "Sisters of Colford Hall" series. I have two books out in each series, with two more coming for each in 2009 and 2010. My historicals have been sold/and or are in translation in Germany, Japan and Brazil. They have won many awards. Just recently, I won the Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence for my second Dorchester book, Riding the Thunder, for Best Long Contemporary Romance. It went on to win The Beacon, First Coast RWA authors, Award of Excellence for Best Single Title.
I am co-host of THE HAUNT - a yahoo group run by Paranormal Romance Reviews Http://paranormalromance.org/ We chat, do promos, show covers and trade tips and such. It is a very great group for paranormal romance, horror and mystery authors and readers. They also do great reviews, which helps you make choices! I have been a reviewer for PRN for nearly seven years.
I was resident historian at WAXING POETIC (1999-2001). I also had a joint company with artist Carmon Deyo called CLAN RAVEN LTD. She wrote tales of Pict-Celt lore or tales from her family; Carmon turns them into the most beautiful jewelry in silver and gold. Our joint effort ‘THE THREE FACES OF THE GODDESS’ (showcased on my website), a highly original look at the Pict-Celt Goddesses, won awards and impressed Barnes and Noble enough to sponsor a month-long show in Texas of the works in September 2000, launched with a cocktail party. We hope someday to compile the works into a book (when life stops intruding!).
I am also on staff at The Best Reviews, Sensual Romance Reviews and Rambles.com, a Celtic e-magazine. I was member of RIO Reviewers International Organization, and served as their Award of Excellence Chair (2003-2005), and was assistant editor of their monthly newsletter. I served as 2nd Vice President of Hearts Through History (2004-2005), an online RWA Chapter, also Web Chair (2003-2005) and was editor of their monthly newsletter The Bard Scroll (2003-5). A member of RWA, History Fiction Writers of Britain and IWOFA (http://iwofa.net).p//iwofa.net).
