Bess McBride is Blogging at Night Owl Romance!
It's Bess McBride here, and Night Owl Romance has kindly invited me to blog today. I'm fresh from blogging at my own site, and rushing in to visit with you all. As I was wondering what to blog about today, I remembered that I'm cutting back on following a lot of loops because, like most of you, I've just become overwhelmed by all the messages to my inbox, and most of those are on digest!
But Night Owl Romance, along with three other sites, plus my publisher's loop, is one of the few loops and web sites that I continue to keep up with. I enjoy the atmosphere here. It's homey, and I feel comfortable. In fact, I feel heard... Does that make sense to you? With so many folks promoting their books and chatting on loops, it's easy to get lost in the shuffle, but Night Owl Romance has been veddy, veddy good to me. Plus, I've been fortunate to have some wonderful reviews of my books, and that is always a good thing! :-)
So, I guess I'll promote a few books while I'm here, but I think I'd also like to promote Night Owl Romance--the superb organizational skills of Tammie King, who seems to keep NOR running in tip-top shape, and the kindness of Diana Coyle, whom I've been fortunate enough to have review my books.
My first review with NOR, a Reviewer Top Pick, came with a February release called A Sigh of Love, a contemporary romance set in Alaska, coming out in print on August 8, 2008. I'm very excited about this print release. I love writing for the e-book industry, but like so many of you, I just cannot wait to see the glossy covered book in my hands. The book will be available at all online bookstores, and here's a bit of what Diana had to say about A Sigh of Love.
“I absolutely loved this story. There was just something magical about it since it was set in Alaska. Having visited there a few years ago, its beauty just leaves a permanent image in your heart, mind and soul. Alaska was the perfect backdrop for this story and the characters were just so believable. I felt so bad for Abbie because she just seemed to be getting a bad deal all the time until she returned back to Alaska. It was as if Alaska helped her to find herself again. I would definitely recommend this story to others and I eagerly look forward to reading more stories from Ms. McBride.”
A Trail of Love, another contemporary set in Glacier National Park, is coming out August 16, 2008 in e-book with print to follow in February 2009. Here's what Diana says with five hearts another Reviewer Top Pick!
"Ms. McBride outdid herself with this story. I immediately felt drawn to Kerrie because of everything she had gone through over the years. I felt bad for her that she had such lack of self-esteem for herself. I also fell in love with Dace because he was the perfect knight in shining armor for Kerrie. He was everything that she had hoped to find in a man and so much more. Ms. McBride wrote this story from the heart and she even had me laughing at loud during some of the scenes. Pick up a copy of this story. I assure you that you won’t be disappointed. You did a fantastic job, Bess!"
And last but certainly not least is one of my favorites, a time travel to the late Victorian era in the United States, A Train Through Time, due out in e-book format on August 22, 2008, with print to follow in February 2009. The cover is sensational as are all my covers. I've been very lucky. Here's what Night Owl Romance has to say with five hearts and a recommended read!
"Ms. McBride did a wonderful job of transporting me back and forth through time with Ellie. I loved the characters and the descriptions of the clothes, furniture and people from past times were superb. Ms. McBride made me feel as if I was in Ellie’s shoes feeling, smelling and seeing everything through her eyes. I fell in love with Ellie because she was smart and beautiful and she deserved someone who would love her unconditionally. I also fell in love with Robert Chamberlain because he was intelligent, charismatic and handsome. He had so much to offer Ellie and they were perfect for each other. If only they could get past some major hurdles in the process. I would definitely recommend this pleasant time travel story to other readers and this is a definite keeper in my library. Don’t pass this one up!"
I've been lucky, haven't I, to have such wonderful reviews, and I look forward to the release of all three of my books in August. It promises to be a crazy month for me, so wish me well! I've got another book going to galleys and one soon to be in edits. Yahoooeee!!! Busy, busy me... It's a great life!
Thanks to Tammie for letting me guest blog today. As I find I'm leaving more and more groups in order to focus on those few groups where I feel "noticed," I'm sticking with Night Owl Romance. I hope you all stick with us, too!
My best to you!
