How I Wrote 150+ Romance in 6 Years
Hi Romance Readers,
I have the brilliant UK based romance author Sam Crescent stopping over to share a big milestone. She has written over 150 books in six years. Sam writes in a variety of romance genres including suspense, contemporary and paranormal. She often writes rubenesque heroines and sexy alpha male heroes. Her most recent book is out with Evernight Publishing and is titled Axton (Four Kings Empire Book 1). It's a hot BBW (Big Beautiful Women) romance love story. This book is super hot with four out of five flames.
Sam is here today to share how she got to this point in her career. 150+ romance books is a LOT!
Congratulations Sam Crescent on your accomplishment.
So Sam, how did you do it?
Lots and lots of hard work. There was no magic involved here even though looking at that number, I feel so incredibly tired. In all seriousness, since I was a little girl I’ve been telling stories. I guess you can say it started when I didn’t like the ending to certain movies. I mean, did the Beast really have to turn into the Prince? I mean seriously? Why? Spoilt it for me.
Writing romance books is a passion. I love reading and for a long time, that’s all I did. I’d put story ideas into notebooks, and we’re going as far back since I was fourteen years old, maybe earlier. My best friend new all about my love of books and we stood in the library one day, and I’m moaning about a book I can’t find. He tells me to write it. I scoffed at him. Honestly, I thought it was a dumb idea.
He made me eat my words or should I say, type them down. I wrote the book I wanted to read. Full figured heroines were hard to come by and being a big woman myself, I wanted to read something that just made me escape. One romance book turned into a second, then a third, and now I’m at that really high number and I’m constantly growing as a romance author. I’m more willing to go out of my comfort zone and I think that helps, not sticking to the same old formula. Each character is different and I love to explore each and every single one of them. I think it what drives me to keep on writing romance. There are so many stories out there and no one is ever the same. I know I have my amazing romance readers to thank for supporting me and putting up with me over the years. They mean the world to me. I hope that I’m still around in another six years.
For me, the key to writing, love what you do. Don’t write what you think will sell, write what you love, what fills you with so much passion that the readers can feel it. That’s what I did and still continue to do.
Axton - Four Kings Empire Book 1
Ten years ago, the Four Kings killed my friend.
I’m not going to kill them.
I’m going to make every single one of them pay.
Make them pray for death, and take everything they’ve ever loved.
This is not revenge. This is justice.
Plain and simple.
It's been ten years and the girl he once knew is back, working for the Four Kings as their PA. He'll keep an eye on Taylor, and he certainly won’t let anyone else touch her.
When Taylor had to pull her best friend’s dead body out of the lake, it changed her life forever. Discovering a diary, she uncovered a secret relationship with one of the four kings. The four most powerful families in town. No one goes up against them without losing everything they hold dear. Something happened between her friend and one of them, and she’s going to find out what. She'll bring them down and make sure they stay down.
Be Warned: sex toys, public exhibition, anal sex
