South London-bred Sara Bain started adult life as an English Barrister.
A trip to Europe emptied her pockets, however, and she decided to take the first job that would offer regular payments into her bank account - that was a position as sub-editor for a leading legal publishing company.
She then went on to become an editor of professional books before giving the city life up completely and heading for her mother's ancestral home - Scotland.
For 13 years, Sara was a journalist for a regional newspaper in south west Scotland until she took voluntary redundancy in October 2012 to become a full-time author.
Although writing has been a career for her, this is her first foray into fiction. Fantasy is her favourite genre.
