Keith “Kat” Williams is the best friend everyone wants. As bassist for the punk rock band Lightning, his level head and cool composure were the glue that held the band together, even in the worst of times. His fierce loyalty to his best friend Adrian “Bolt” Hall kept the band’s lead singer on a path that eventually led him to marital bliss with his wife, Melody. Kat’s always envied the love Adrian and Melody share because it’s something he’s been unable to obtain. The one woman he gave his heart to left it in shambles. But now, Kat believes he’s found the love of his life with Annette, a woman he’s been close friends with since high school.
Annette Hall, Adrian’s cousin and Melody’s best friend, has left her unfaithful husband and is building a new life for herself and her three sons. In Kat, she sees a gorgeous man with a good heart. One who’s always been there for her even when her husband was not. As the two of them begin to look beyond the boundaries of friendship, they start to see the possibility of a relationship that could last a lifetime. There’s just one problem…her husband wants her back.
Despite all his failures as a husband and father, Dr. Adam Bryant promises Annette they can pick up the pieces and put their family back together. But when his wife repeatedly refuses him, something snaps, and a dark, sinister side of Adam emerges—a side willing to destroy every relationship Annette has ever had and hurt everyone she loves, including their sons.
After five years of separation Melody and Adrian are together once again and along with their daughter, Adrianna, are planning a happy future. Adrian’s band, Lightning, is a worldwide success and Melody is on her way to becoming a doctor.
However, Adrian’s plans to take time off from music to get reacquainted with his family are thwarted by a contractual agreement he must fulfill. With the band forced to hit the road again, the couple’s world begins to spin out of control as Melody becomes the object of desire for one of Adrian’s longtime friends. Adding fuel to the fire is Adrian’s former lover who will stop at nothing to get back into his bed. As the tour moves from city to city, the doubts and mistrust build. Suspicions turn into arguments. Arguments turn into fights. Fights into separations.
Adrian and Melody’s relationship is tested in the cruelest possible ways.
Will their fiery love survive? Or is it destined to turn to ash?

Absolutely no one stands up to Bolt Hall without suffering the consequences. But Melody does, stopping Bolt from bullying a fellow student, embarrassing him in front of his fellow classmates and tarnishing his badass reputation. Instead of being furious, Bolt finds himself tongue tied and completely turned on by her fiery courage.
Bolt Hall, with his torn jeans, ripped t-shirts and combat boots, dreams of being a punk rock superstar. Fame and fortune will be his, along with a different woman for every night of the week. In 1981, he is on his way. He has the look, the attitude, and a band that kicks ass. The last thing he needs is a distraction. And that’s just what she is. From the moment their paths clash, he vows to do whatever it takes to make Melody his. Even if she can’t stand the sight of him.
Melody Stewart grew up in a life of privilege with wealthy parents who packed her off to boarding school at a young age. As she returns to public school for her senior year, the only thing on her mind is fitting in. She isn’t trying to attract anyone’s attention, especially that of a rude punker intent on taking her virginity—someone who plans to use her, then discard her as he has done countless others. Melody is determined to fight Bolt’s advances even if it means denying her own infatuation with the spike haired rock star wannabe.
Melody and Bolt—so different, yet on fire for one another. Will they ever stop fighting long enough to fall in love?
