Must Read Urban Fantasy & Paranormal Romance - April 2017
Has spring sprung where you live?
Here in Michigan the weather is very ADD. One day it is warm and sunny, the next it’s snowing or sleeting.
We don’t bother packing away the winter gear until late May, I’ve seen snow on my daughter’s birthday, which is May 2. One year we still had ice floating in the Great Lakes Memorial Day weekend. People were taking photos at the beach with small iceburgs. We won’t have that this year, it was a warm winter. But miserable in its own way. I’ll be happy when spring is here to stay. I need to read in the sun, feel the fresh air flow around me.
While I can’t count on the weather, I can always count on having something new to read.
At the top of my must read list this month is the final book in Chloe Neill’s Chicagoland Vampires Series, Blade Bound. I’m sad to say goodbye to Merit and Ethan. This has been one of my favorites from the very first book.
My son is very much looking forward to Shadowcaster, Shattered Realms Book 2, by Cinda Williams Chima. Last year I received book 1, Flamecaster, as a review book, he snagged it and fell in love. Over the summer he read Chima’s Seven Realms Series, which are huge books for a ten year old. So you know I have to get Shadowcaster for my little book worm. He’s really into fantasy.
What books have really excited your kids?

This month we have Ash Krafton chatting with us in the Super Quick Author Interview. Ash is touring her contribution to the Spellbound box set, Bleeding Hearts, with Bewitching Book Tours April 3- May 1.
RR: Welcome Ash and twenty author friends also in the Spellbound box set.
Let’s kick this off with the name of your newest release and genre/category it falls into.
AK: SPELLBOUND is a Limited Edition Boxed Set featuring fantasy & paranormal romances.
RR: Can you describe your main character in 3 words?
AK: My contribution to the boxed set is BLEEDING HEARTS; the main character, Sophie, could be described as sensitive, sassy, and (surprisingly) strong.
RR: Can you describe your hero in one sentence?
AK: Marek is a demivamp who’s convinced of two things: that he’s dangerously close to losing his soul, and that Sophie is the only one who can save him.
RR: Can you describe your heroine in one sentence?
AK: Sophie is willing to do anything it takes to convince Marek he’s wrong about himself…and right about her.
RR: What kind of paranormals or paranormal elements are in your book?
AK: This 20 book collection pretty much has it all: faeries, witches, vampires, shifters, psychics, oracles, Greek gods, angels, demons, ghosts…you name it, it’s probably in there. We’ve got romance, urban fantasy, sword and sorcery, epic fantasy, time travel, and so much more. Whatever you’re in the mood to read, SPELLBOUND will magically deliver your wish.
RR: In two sentences or less can you tell readers something unique about your book?
AK: I’ll bet you all had no idea that vamps and shifters are descended from the ancient Egyptian god Horus. It’s totally true. (And by true, I mean fiction.)
RR: Can you list three adjectives that describe your book as a whole?
AK: The SPELLBOUND collection is huge (1.5 million words worth!), diverse, and completely covetable. Not to mention good-looking…isn’t that cover GORGEOUS?
RR: What’s the heat level of your book?
AK: Sweet: the entire collection is a set of clean reads, for ages 16+.
RR: And last but not least, where can a reader purchase your book?
AK: Just about anywhere!
