The Commander

Red, Hot, & Blue, Book 12

Awesome romance reminding everyone that you’re never too old to fall in love and that you can find love in the most unexpected places. This story is part of Cat Johnson’s Red, Hot and Blue series and throughout it, readers have been watching the members of the team fall in love. Now, it’s time for their commander! He’s just as sexy as the younger guys and while he may be out of practice, he’s got moves that will just melt a girl. Better still, he doesn’t go after a young thing, but finds a woman close to his age that is sexy without knowing it. Perfect combination of romance, sex and story which had me glued to my kindle and left me wanting more. I love this series, the characters and their stories. I don’t know how Ms Johnson packs so much into so few pages but she does giving her readers a full bodied story.

While this is part of a series, and these books are better if read in order, they can be read without having read any of the others. This may confuse you with all the relationships but the basic story is stand alone. But, my suggestion is start at the beginning. They are all so good you’re going to want to read them anyway.

Romance is in the air, even for the man they call the commander. Hank Miller is divorced due to his devotion to duty. He’s not looking for love even though it seems every man in his command is finding it. So, when he travels to Pigeon Hollow for a wedding, he doesn’t expect to find the mother of the groom attracting his interest. This wasn’t the older homey woman he expected! Lois has been on her own for years running Gordon Equine. Her 3 boys are grown, two are in the military. When the one decides to get married on the family farm, she doesn’t expect to find his commander attractive. Do they dare act on this attraction?

Book Blurb for The Commander

Just when they thought they were out of last chances, love comes around again.

To his men on his SpecOps team, Hank Miller is simply the commander. They treat him like he’s more than a mere man, but Hank would be the first to admit he is full of the same fears, feelings and desires. He just doesn’t let them show.

The military is his life, and that’s all he needs—until he travels to Pigeon Hollow for a wedding and meets the woman his men reverently call “Mama”.

Lois Gordon is nothing like Hank envisioned. Instead of the plump, older woman happily baking pies in her farmhouse kitchen, Lois is a smart, sexy powerhouse who runs Gordon Equine…and tempts him to break all his own rules.

The heat between them quickly flares into a weekend fling hotter than Lois’s oven. But with Hank’s dangerous career and two failed marriages between them, forever could be too much to ask for.

Warning: Contains one smoking-hot mama and a man tough enough to not need pot holders to handle her.
