Her Long Tall Texan

Diana Palmer is known for her older men in some sort of law enforcement or military background and young virginal women. While this story does have those elements it is updated and feels possible. An over protective father with abusive tendencies keeps Isabel from dating or having friends. Paul doesn’t see past Isabel’s father’s image of a loving father and when he realizes that he feels too much for her leaves. Don’t worry, he comes back and then things start getting interesting. Isabel may be a virgin but she’s determined to be her own woman. Paul may screw up but he does get it together. Characters from previous books make guess appearances throughout this one giving you a glimpse into their current lives. All in all, this is a pleasant romance that was easy to love. Don’t look for sex scenes. Do look for emotional ones and heartwarming ones. I love how Ms. Palmer has progressed into the modern world for women and reflects that in her own unique way holding on to those morals and values that she wants to share.

Isabel and her sister have lived a very sheltered life. Their father has them driven to and from school. They are not allowed to talk to boys, date or attend social functions. As long as they follow his rules things are okay. However, if they don’t, things become violent. Paul worked as the head of security for several years. He only saw the pleasant face of his employer. When Paul felt he was getting too close to Isabel, he quit but the way he did it caused Isabel extreme pain that she will never forget. When Paul comes back 3 years later, things have changed and not necessarily for the better. Can Isabel forgive? Does Paul realize what even happened?

But if she can't trust herself to resist him, how can she trust him not to break her heart all over again?
