Hostile Witness

A Kate Ford Mystery

Having a special gift for seeing things that most people would miss can be a good and a bad thing. For Kate this can turn out to be a good thing. Her life was in total disarray having to deal with situations at home from her son's teenage tantrums and her father who was suffering from Alzheimer's disease. At work Kate however was engulfed in a mystery that involved senior government officials dealing in espionage.

This story unfolds where Kate Ford a computer security specialist had many problems she’d been dealing with inside her head, from her son Jack's puberty issues to her health, which as the story progresses will turn out to be her ace card in solving this mystery. One day her manager assigns her a job which is outside the scope of what the government agency she works for would do and this has Kate more inquisitive as to why she was assigned this job. As it turns out Kate gets suspended for breaching security whilst snooping around with her new assignment; however this does not prevent her from getting to the bottom of what is going on.

Throughout this book the plot was mostly focused on courtroom events and Kate's personal issues including her family as well. Although the story would eventually evolve in outcomes of the courtroom, I think that too much emphasis was placed on these two scenes. I however like the way Kate dealt with her issues and used her specialized security skills to solve this mystery.
