Welcome back to the Sin Hunters. In this second installment sparks fly and magic flares. I enjoyed this one as much as I did the first, The Lost. I’m looking forward to the next one in this world as Pineiro has drawn me in.
Victoria Johnson, “Quinchu” of her local Light Hunter clan, is a strong female lead with her own successful business on the water. She gains energy from being in the ocean. With the energy she gains she feeds her people life giving energy as they can no longer feed from the source themselves. She is a protector of her people. Every day they live with the fear of attach from their enemy The Shadow Hunters.
Christopher is a powerful Shadow Hunter who has recently broken off from his dad’s clan. He and his dad don’t agree upon how to run the clan and his dad is power hungry. Christopher wants to create a new future for those who have followed him. He is doing an experiment to make his people healthy and no longer bear the effects of the pocks. His experiment is working. His people are no longer feeding from humans, but are taking sentence elsewhere. Like Victoria water is his heaven. But not everything is great. Within his encampment they have a traitor and Victoria does as well.
When Victoria and Christopher meet they are attracted to each other. Will they find common ground? Can these two find trust and love in each other? Will their clan’s find a future together? Will they find a way to merge as their equinox’s come to the forefront?
I encourage readers to picking up book one and two if they have not already started this series. You will want The Claimed on hand when you finish The Lost. I’m now waiting for book three and hope it will be about Samantha. Hints were left that she’s much more than human. Now we have to wait to see what she is and what her powers are.
Victoria Johnson loves her life. She's her own boss in a quaint beachside town, and has great friends who keep her grounded. If only they knew who she really is: an heiress to an ancient race who possesses astonishing superhuman powers. It's Victoria's duty to restore her clan of Light Hunters to their former glory by choosing the perfect mate. In Christopher Sombrosa, she just may have found him. Strong, smart, and successful, Christopher exudes a powerful energy. Their connection is sensual, irresistible-and forbidden.
A member of the Shadow Hunter clan, Christopher has defied his own father to lead his people away from affliction and violence. Yet he cannot ignore his duty to carry on his ancient bloodline. Stunningly beautiful and brimming with an erotic life force, Victoria is everything Christopher ever hoped for in a mate . . . but as a Light Hunter, she's his mortal enemy. Together, they could unite their warring tribes. But murderous factions on both sides don't want peace-and they'll stop at nothing to keep light and darkness apart forever . . .
