Totally dedicated to his fledgling business, Dillon Lloyd needs to get laid. He’s developed a voyeuristic relationship with the gorgeous man next door, Vance Keith. Watching while Vance has sex with his current male lover in varied and delicious ways, Dillon longs for more, but has never entertained the idea of actually asking Vance out on a date. Business and pleasure should never mix, and Vance is a client of his delivery company.
But things change when a package--a gift that Vance had sent to his most recent lover—is returned as undeliverable. Deciding to take a chance and return the package to Vance himself, Dillon hopes that maybe a miracle of the season will happen for him.
Sparks fly when the two meet in person for the first time. Hurting from his failed love affair, Vance invites Dillon into his apartment. Both are hesitant, but the draw is too strong to ignore. It doesn’t take long before they become an item, but something is hovering on the fringes of their happiness. Something deadly.
I totally enjoyed this well-written story. The mystery was subtle and crept up on me. The tentative toe-dipping into a new relationship for both was realistic and refreshing. A graphic love story between two men, and the challenges they face to be together, some mundane, others extraordinary. The Messenger is a skillfully relayed illustration that love will find a way, even in the most trying of circumstances.
