REVIEWER TERMS and Conditions
Reviewers are not employed by NOR, but are users of the site. We don't pay for reviews.
Reviewers must be 18+ to review for NOR.
Reviewers will edit their own reviews, plus a NOR Editor will give them a second glance prior to the website release.
Reviewers must be well versed in the English language and have the time to commit to reviewing books in a timely manner.
Reviewers must agree to review all books provided. Reviewers select the books and authors they want to review. In the case that a reviewer gets sick or has an unexpected emergency they need to contact us ASAP so we can schedule a new due date or find an alternate reviewer.
Reviewers must be able to commit to reviewing at least 3 books per month.
Reviewers need to be able to read several forms of eBooks as well as prints. eBook formats include PDF, ePub. and .ascm adobe digital editions files. You must be willing to download Adobe Digital Editions for secure files.
Reviewers must always be professional in their reviews.
Reviews may be edited by a NOR Editor when we deem it necessary.
Reviewers many not take payment for any reviews provided to Night Owl Reviews.
New Reviewer Preliminary Period: Only 3 books out at a time. After the preliminary period reviewers will be able to get more titles at once. For the first 10 reviews reviewers will need to review eBooks only. After the preliminary period they will then be able to request print books as long as a reviewer lives in the 50 USA. Reviewers outside of the 50 United States of America can do eBooks only.
Free Books: Reviewers are provided a free book by the publisher or author, but the getting of a free book should never prompt a glowing review. A review should be based on the books merit and not on where it came from. We do not allow author bashing, but it is good to help an author out with information on how they could improve. Reviews need to be considerate.
Copyright: Night Owl Reviews owns the reviews and retains copyright. Reviewers may post a short portion of their NOR reviews on their personal blogs and on sites such as Amazon and B&N as long as NOR is given credit for the review and a link to NOR is provided back to the review. Reviewers may not post reviews on other review networks.
Non-Distribution: All NOR reviewers must agree to not distribute any eBooks or ARC's that are provided for review purposes. It's against the law to distribute eBooks. If a reviewer distributes an eBook NOR is not responsible. Reviewers are responsible for their own actions and the publisher can come after them with legal action. By filling out the NOR Reviewer form you agree not to distribute any eBook or ARC we provide you with. eBooks and ARC's are provided for review purposes only. Reviewers in violation will have their NOR accounts closed immediately.
