Current Release: The Billionaire Wins the Game

Describe your current release in two sentences?

This is the first book of my romance series about love, family, alpha males, and heartwarming heroines. You will fall in love with the couple and the family in this series romance.

Please describe your writing environment.

I love this question. My writing is utter chaos, and I love it. I try and go off to be alone and end up hearing my family and coming back to the living room. I am very good at tuning out everything around me when I really sink into my stories. My kids are doing homework, my husband puttering around the house, and my dogs sitting at my feet, but I'm off in Paris or Austria, or a million other places. I don't think I could write in a still, quiet room.

What is your favorite TV show?

My absolute favorite show right now is New Girl. This show makes me laugh every single episode I watch. I love it cause its only a half hour and its a great stress relief. I watch it with my daughter, cause my 15 year old son will have nothing to do with it. I just love what a goofy character Jess is. I'm going to cheat and give my second favorite show, which is American Idol. I love, love, love how these ordinary teens have their dreams come true. I've watched from the very first season when Kelly Clarkson won. I am always voting for the person who I like the most as a person. It helps if they have a great voice, but if they are mean I don't care how great their voice is. I want to see that person like Kelly who is so overwhelmed she cries while trying to sing her song. She's stayed true to who she is too, by remaining great to her friends, and family and remaining goofy, even in front of the camera. Good for her!!

What are you working on?

I am actually working on my first young adult series. I'm so excited about it. The first book is completed and will be out at the end of January 2012. This book took me so much time to get into the minds of teenagers, and the devastation that occurred. I would love it one minute and hate it the next. I put it away a few times and worked on romance titles. But, after months and months of heartache, it all came through and I'm really happy about it. I will finish my latest romance title before digging in to the sequel to Midnight Fire. I know where I'm going with it but it is all-consuming. Romance for me just flows. I love writing about happily ever afters and Prince Charming. I love the mush and tingles. I love romance and fantasy and hope to even write a horror book, someday.

What career fields have you worked in?

Customer Service. I love people. Before my writing took off I always worked customer service jobs. My first job was at a small cafe in Florence Oregon, that is no longer there, called In and Out. Not the amazing In and Out of California, though the cafe I worked at made amazing burgers. My boss was Joe and he was like a grandpa. I adored him. I then moved on at the age of 15 to Mo's in Florence. That was amazingly fun cause I worked with all of my friends. I went to college and got a 4 year degree in Business, though I have no idea why because I would go crazy sitting in an office all day. I've loved most of my jobs though, especially my amazing co-workers and all the customers I got to meet. Now, I do a lot of volunteer work. I think it's so important and I still get to meet amazing people.

Where do you want to travel?

I plan on traveling all over the US. I'm really a big chicken when it comes to flying, though I worked for an airline for about 4 years. My best friends want me to go to Africa with them, and I don't know if I can make it through the flight. One of my friends is a nurse, so she says she'll tranquilize me :) I would love to go to Rome and Australia, especially Australia. It is so amazingly beautiful over there. Maybe, someday I will overcome those fears. For now I will get in the RV and go all around the US. There is so much to see her and I've never left the West. However, I've been as far up as Alaska, where my favorite Uncle lives, and as far south as Mexico on an amazing cruise I took with those same friends who want to tranquilize me. Maybe that trip did it. :)

What are your plans for the summer? Any books you are looking forward to?

I'm so excited about the upcoming summer of 2012. My daughter is a Junior in high school this year and she is one of those really amazing kids who all parents dream about having. She is smart, beautiful and kind. We are touring Washington, Idaho and Utah to look at different colleges. She used to want to go to an Ivy League college, and she's certainly smart enough to get in, but as the time draws near she realizes she doesn't want to be that far away from mom. We are amazingly close. I will cry my heart out when she does leave in less than 2 years. But, this summer will be so much fun because it will just be me and her for a couple of weeks, traveling around and having an amazing time.

What has been the best way for you to engage readers? Face to Face / Chatting Online / Twitter / Facebook / Blogging

I have to admit that I do have a twitter account, but I seriously don't know how to use it. My sister was twittering me (is that a real word?) and I managed to reply to her, but it confuses me. I love facebook. I was reluctant to get on it, thinking it was a teenager thing, and my best friend bugged me about it for a while, telling me it was the greatest thing ever. So, finally I caved and got on. I have to admit I got addicted to farmtown for a bit, but I managed to break away :) I love hearing from my fans on facebook. Their so supportive and its great to hear people are enjoying my books. I try and check it a couple times a day and always reply to posts. Some days, of course, are busier than others, but I wouldn't sell books without fans, and I appreciate them so much. I also get to find my favorite authors on their and speak with them too. I also love the new kindlegraph program that's out, where fans can request autographs. Its so much fun trying to get my signature right with my mouse. It took several tries, but I'm getting better at it now.

What is the best thing about being an author?

The absolute best thing about being an author is I get to live in a new world whenever I sit at the computer. I can create this amazing adventure and go wherever it takes me. I really started focusing on being an author because I wanted to be home with my kids. I only have so many years that I get to go to sporting events, and school meetings and then they will be out of the house and at college, and then starting families. Being away from them for 40 plus hours a week was heartbreaking to me, so we survived on next to nothing for years. My husband was amazing about me being a stay at home mom. As they got older I worked part time and started writing in the evenings. When I finished several books I started to look at publishing them. It's been a dream come true. I get to have this amazing career and still be a full time mother. I can't believe how blessed I've been.

Can we get an Exclusive excerpt of your next book?

A Prince for All Seasons

“Speaking of dancing, you seem as if you’ve been doing it for years,” he complimented her, which sent another blush to her cheeks.

“You’re a very good partner,” she told him. He pulled her a bit closer and those butterflies in her stomach started fluttering around in an uproar. He looked into her eyes, and it took all of her will-power to finally break the eye-contact. She had to keep reminding herself he was a Prince, and he wasn’t hers for the taking.

“I couldn’t teach someone who was unwilling to learn,” he finally said, and it took her a moment to remember what they were talking about. The music stopped playing and it was time for Ally to have her piano lesson. Celeste stood awkwardly for a moment and then she heard Michael in the next room pick up a guitar and start playing a rock song. Their moment was broken, and she breathed a sigh of relief.

“How about I teach you some of my dance moves, now?” she asked him with a mischievous smile on her face.

“I don’t know if I should trust the look that’s come into your eyes,” he said with his own smile.

“Oh let down your hair for a few moments and allow yourself to have some fun. Celeste walked over to the stereo and switched the music to one of her nephews hip hop songs and turned towards the Prince, who now had a horrified look on his face. She walked toward him and quickly ran her fingers through his hair, messing up the perfect strands. He looked at her as if she’d lost her mind for a moment, and then he laughed.

I love my job, if you could even call it that. I work long hours perfecting my stories, but I also get to play often with my kids, family, and friends. I would choose this career, hands down, above any other. I hope so much you will love my stories and I would truly love to hear from any and all fans. Thanks for your support and encouragement.
