Feral Warrior Hawke is a man on the edge, the link to his animal spirit is damaged and weakening to the point of breaking. If it breaks, Hawke is done. When Faith arrives Hawke is horrified to realize that she is possibly his mate but already attached to a new Feral Warrior - Maxim. Faith both delights him and enflames his deepest primal passions, but she's promised to Maxim. Faith is drawn to Hawke from their first meeting. But things are very confusing at first and although Maxim holds her in thrall he isn't a good person and in fact has evil designs on Faith. Faith must find a way out of Maxim's hold and Hawke is the only one that can save her and protect her from Maxim's evil intents. The Feral Warriors have taken several blows in the last few books, and as the story continues to unfold we see that there is a lot more at work than was first thought in the beginning books. Every time I pick up one of these novels I think that Pamela Palmer can't possibly top my delight in the last book, but she does! Her imagination brings us new twists and turns in the story that are unexpected and gripping. Her characters emotional palates are realistic and how each deals with trials and tribulations allows us to really understand the depth of the individual's character and morals. I was taken by surprise several times in this book as the story unfurls to reveal the true motivations between the new Feral Warriors, Faith, Hawke and the original Ferals. This book will provoke tears, laughter and smiles as Faith and Hawke battle to save each other from evil and find a way to overcome the evil obstacles in their path to love.
