Risking Trust was an amazing read. I absolutely loved it. I loved all of the characters. I had gotten to see them in the other two books but not much. This book is set before the other two in this series. It is Roxann and Michael's story. Roxann and Michael have a history. They used to date and were quite serious about each other. Michael left her without explanation. Michael's ex-wife has been killed and he is the main suspect. Roxann is now in charge of a major newspaper and Michael needs her help. They both still have feelings for each other and so are trying to pretend like they don't. She wants to do her father proud but she also has to fight her Uncle, the police chief. Watching Roxann Michael interact was great. They have great personalities that really complement each other. They have both been hurt and so they are wary about trying again and risking their hearts for a second time. Roxann decides that it is worth the risk to both her heart and her newspaper. There is a lot of action in this story. There is a lot of suspense as Roxann and Michael try and find the real killer. There is danger the entire time as they uncover more and more secrets. Roxann and Michael have a lot of chemistry. They are drawn to each other and have deep feelings. The sex between this is explicit. They do not have too much sex because of the circumstances; they are too busy trying to find out what is going on, who the killer is, and Roxann denying that she still loves him. I could not put this story down after I started it.
