Haunted by Yor Touch is a great collection featuring 3 novellas by hot names in urban fantasy and paranormal romance. I have read stories by both Frost and Black but Kohler was new to me and I'm always excited to read new authors in the genres I adore.
In Frost's Night's Darkest Embrace Mara, a partial demon, enters the demon realm Nocturna searching for the demon that kidnapped and killed her best friend Gloria years before. As always the King of the realm, Rafael, is close by. He's always around when Mara enters the realm. She fears he is more than what he appears to be. This attracts her to him and repels her at the same time because she fears he had something to do with Gloria's disappearance. Turns out she's right about at least one thing- he is much more than he appears to be. Just not at all what she expected.
I loved Jeaniene Frost's new demon world. Even in shorter form Frost's world building and character depth skills are phenomenal . I loved reading something from Frost other than her vampire world. Not that I don't love her vampire books- they are always at the top of my to-read list when a new book is out. It's just nice to see authors try something new.
Shayla Black's story Mated is in the same world as her Doomsday Brethren series. I haven't read any of that series so I don't know if the story is linked or just set in the same world but it was a sexy read featuring wizards, magicians, magic and sorcery. Tabitha and Raiden are a fiery match.
Sharie Kohler's story Darkest Temptation is a lycan piece set in the same world as her Moon Chasers series. It's a little darker a little more dangerous than the first two stories. Lily watched her friend get mauled then she meets a hunter that takes her to the beast that did it. She's supposed to kill him. And use any means necesarry to get close to him. Which she does. But is killing him the right thing, can she do it or will she follow her heart to the truth?
This was a fabulous collection of short urban fantasy/paranormal romance reads- and if you haven't read any of these authors it is a great way to get to know their writing and decide to seek out their books. This is a book paranormal romance/urban fantasy fans won't want to miss.
