Glory St. Clair, vampire, is in Hollywood for the Grammy’s.  She is hitting all the hot nightclubs with her on again off again long time boyfriend Jerry Blade and her best friends.  Glory is still playing at being engaged to the famous singer, Israel Caine.  Since he is a newly turned vampire Glory has been teaching him all that he needs to know in order to keep being a vampire a secret.  When the press keeps seeing them together they report that Glory is Israels' new girlfriend.   While out at a club, Glory's friend Flo tells her about a vampire who has discovered a way for vampires to lose weight.  Ever since Glory was turned she has always wanted to be a few pounds lighter.   Jerry tries to convince her she is perfect just the way she is.  Glory really should have known that this would not turn out to be the easiest thing she has ever done.  The vampire with the weight loss plan is Ian MacDonald.  It seems that his clan has a history with Jerry's clan, the Campbell.  Some would say it is a feud that has gone on for centuries.   When Glory start showing some strange side effects from the weight loss drinks, her bodyguard tells Jerry.  When Jerry finds out from whom Glory is getting the drinks from he flips.  He brings in his father and the rest of the clan.  What is Glory willing to give up in order to have what she thinks is the perfect body?  What is worth the price of thinner thighs?  What or who is she willing to give up?

Ms. Bartlett brings us the fifth installment in her highly entertaining Real Vampires series.  This is one of the most laugh out loud books I have read in a long time.  Ms. Bartlett manages to bring everyday mortal problems into the world of vampires.  Be on the lookout for the next Real Vampires book due out in December, Real Vampires Think Size Matters.
