Tina Donahue is an author that I can count on for a good solid read. Her novels are always fun natured reads with natural dialogue among the characters. Take Me Away is about former football player Kyle Griffen and child star actress Lexi. Kyle and his best friend have opened a sports bar and are quite comfortable with the living they are making but Pete knows they need money and doing a favor for the star would bring in some cash. I love the reason Lexi is coming from rehab and believe the reporter got what he deserved. Watching Lexi fall for Kyle and knowing her history with her manager parents made me want only the best for her. Donahue does an excellent job of showing the heroines vulnerability with her life in the limelight and yet falling for Kyle despite her fears. Kyle brings his own sensuality and strength to the story. He was an alpha hero but in a protective manner without making the reader annoyed. As the plot developed I could almost see what was coming. The author still managed to surprise me and I found myself happy with the HEA. This story is enjoyable and worth a second read.
