I’m a huge fan of Gini Koch's alien series. This was a good read with the necessary humor we've come to expect from our heroine Kitty Katt, who as always has ended up in another plot when she really should be taking some downtime and focusing on her relationship with alien hotty husband Jeff Martini. Having said that I don’t think this is the best in the series. The story takes place a short while after Jeff and Kitty have been married and Kitty is anticipating the birth of her half alien baby with parts excitement and fear. After all her husband is one of the strongest empaths and there is the possibility that her baby could be the same or better. Since the super beings are destroyed, Kitty doesn’t expect too much to be going on for the alpha centurions but a conspiracy plot is discovered and the plan is to keep the pregnant Kitty on the sidelines. Things of course don't end up that way and Koch takes off with an awkward but funny story line as our hero and heroine are once again in the middle of world chaos. The problem is that with this installment the author throws everything in this story but the kitchen sink. Kitty and Jeff's baby has powers and abilities that bordered on absurd and Kitty's own power surge caused some annoyance on my part. What made these characters so special was the fact that Kitty was an ordinary human able to help the super smart super-hot aliens with just the songs on her ipod and whatever she could dig out of her purse. Wish the author had kept things settled down in this one and not put so much on the table. Still a good read for those following the series
