Dark Desires is the second in author Jessica Lee’s Warriors of the Enclave Series, following Desire to Die For, and picks up the story of Arran and Gabrielle as they search a sinister goth club and the underground empires of Fairfield to find Elle’s sister Alexandria.
The man they’re after is Markus, who has fallen under the control of the ancient vampire Marguerite, addicted to the sex and blood she uses to hold her minions to her. Meanwhile, he's dodging danger from all sides--from the Enclave and from his own Mistress, who isn't going to be happy to find her second-in-command in love with the captive Alexandria.
Lee builds an intoxicating world of vampire warriors and their fight against the DEAD, rogue vampires who drain their human victims. Comparisons to JR Ward’s successful Black Dagger Brotherhood series are inevitable but the Enclave are no Brotherhood wannabees. Great characterization, strong worldbuilding and crisp writing give the Enclave warriors their own place in the world of warrior vampires.
This is a great read with a sizzling romance and enough plot twists and turns to keep the pages turning till the end.
