Paris Brandon provides her readers with an emotionally charged, action-packed story. Valentine is no sugary sweet heroine as witnessed by the fact that we are introduced to her on a street corner surrounded by prostitutes. Rather she is a strong, independent woman with a mind of her own. I love how fearless she is, standing up for what she believes in and protecting those she feels need it. Jack is a wonderful alpha-male hero who is just as protective as Val. I love the fact that they seem to have more in common then they realize. Both of them are far from flawless but it is their imperfections that make them perfect for each other. The attraction and the connection between these two was almost palpable and let me say I'll never look at a workout mat the same way again. The secondary characters were well developed and entertaining and I enjoyed the plot and pace. I'd love to see additional stories about the people helped by Val's friend as the subject matter was handled with great care and yet didn't gloss over the seriousness of the situation. I'd love to have been a fly on the wall during the fundraising event. Why is it that I cannot convince any local charities to give it a shot? This author has definitely made a place for herself on my must-read list and I highly recommend this erotic romantic suspense.
