Kerri Nelson drags you right into the action from the beginning and before you know what's happening you are on the run alongside Jana. Danny is a fantastic hero and I couldn't help but feel as if I got to know him in such a short amount of time. You completely understand his motivations and his strength of character. While I liked Jana as well the situation itself left me leery of her true character, was she on the run because of something horrible she had done or something that was done with her and thus I had my doubts into what made her tick. The length of the story was not a problem for me as the pace was good and the plot well thought out. I did however have a concern with how abrupt the end was. Even though the epilogue tied up all the lose strings I felt somehow cheated because I was invested in the situation and then only got the crime blotter update. Overall this was an enjoyable quick read and I think fans of suspense who do not have the time to read the average 200 pages will enjoy this.
Jana is on the run so she takes a new job as the physical therapist for the U.S. Olympic Hockey Team but when trouble follows her she blackmails one of the players to help her. A serious shoulder injury threatens Danny's chance to make the cut and lose out on his dream of representing his country. He wants Jana to trust him with her secrets but instead she indicates that if he does not keep quiet about her problem and help hide her she will reveal his secret. Can these two get beyond their secrets, survive gun-wielding bad guys and find a happy future together?
