Midnight’s Ghost by Sara Brookes is a Science Fiction Romance. Ms. Brookes has an excellent flair for description and I could really visualize the space ship, Eidolon, as well as Taran, Wallace and Kerr.
Taran was a wonderful heroine, you could empathize with her in the loss of her father. Then when her former lover, Wallace, walked back into her life after 5 years and ask her to help him deliver Kerr, the teenager, to his home planet you could side with Taran in her desire to say no. But Taran relents and during the course of the journey you realize that the love that Wallace felt for Taran was deep and lasting. Wallace tried to be the “macho” man you come to expect from romance novels but Ms. Brookes gave him a softer side that slipped out.
I would like to read about Kerr's story as well as learning more about the world in which Midnight's Ghost is set.
