A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Dreamweaver
Lady Beatrice Lindsey is young and inexperienced when she meets the knowledgeable rogue Ralph Sylvester. They become friends while Bea is staying with her sister until her father’s return to London.
Ralph Sylvester is a rogue in his own right. So when he discovers that Bea is engaged to be married upon her return visit to her sister’s home, he is hurt, but understands the need to marry within ones society standing. However, Ralph is not prepared for Bea’s indecent proposal requesting that Ralph train her in the ways to pleasure a man.
Of course things are not always as easily clearly cut as they are first intended and these two friends end up falling in love with each other. However, they each have their own inferiority issues and do not admit to each other their true feelings since they feel that they are not good enough for each other in the long run.
Can these two ever admit to their feelings for each other?
I love, love, love, fun and well done historical novels that can take me away from my reality and this novel really took me away. Not having read the previous novels, I am determined to go back and read the novel that preceded this one so I can learn more about what happened to Bea’s sister before Ralph and Bea’s story. Hope Tarr is my new favorite author.
