A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Diana Coyle
Cassidy Kennedy narrowly misses bring murdered by a crazy man her best friend and roommate, Darcy, has been dating. You see, Cassidy finally convinces Darcy to leave Carson, but he refuses to accept the fact that Darcy has broken up with him. To seek revenge, he attacks both women in their apartment. But while fighting for her life, Cassidy is able to corner Carson on the balcony and with every last ounce of fight left in her she pushes him over the railing. Ultimately, she's the only survivor from this horrific attack. Having a few weeks left to recuperate, she realizes this is as good a time as any to write the romance novel she has always wanted to write. So she sets out determined to use her convalescent leave from work as a productive time to get her novel started. Being that she wants her story to involve a ghost hunter, she begins doing some research on the web, but comes up with little that she can use to make her story authentic. Cassidy decides that she'll have to contact a real paranormal investigator so she can find out what they do during an investigation and incorporate it into her book. After numerous organizations declined her request, Paranormal Investigations Unlimited allows her to tag along with them for the weekend for a hefty price in return. When she starts going on calls with the team, strange things start happening only to her during their investigations. Although one of the lead investigators really doesn't want Cassidy working alongside his team, once Trace witnesses some of the scary things happening to her, he begins to take interest in her. Ironically, his interest starts to blossom into something beyond just her wellbeing and they're both surprised by this. What are some of the strange occurrences that are happening to Cassidy? Does something ignite between Cassidy and Trace while he sets out to protect her from the evil that surrounds her? Can they both get to the bottom of things without losing their lives in the process? I really enjoyed this bone chilling ghost story and found myself jumping at the littlest things during and after reading this well written story. The suspense was so high that my heart was slamming in my chest during the action scenes. Ms. Tyler knows how to keep her readers riveted to their seats while becoming so deeply engrossed in her story. This is one story that I highly recommend to any Paranormal Romance/Ghost loving fan looking for a great read to add to their library!
