Lauren Willig's Pink Carnation series have been a wonderful spinoff from The Scarlet Pimpernal, creating a original and creative plot, yet still doing justice to the original novel. Weaving a modern day love story, with hints of Bridget Jones, with a classic love story, ala Jane Austen, each entry in Lauren Willig's series continue to delight and amuse. Interesting characters, hilarious dialogue, diabolical villians, intrigue, history, and mystery all combine to create a book that is just sheer fun to read. This book will tempt fans of romance, be it historical or modern, making it a definite must-have on a reader's bookshelf.
