A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Danya

This is yet another fun and fabulous entry in the series of flower spy books that started with "The Secret of the Pink Carnation". This book was completely set in historical England and doesn't feature modern day London or Eloise at all, making it different from the other books. Addlepated and bumbling Turnip finally gets his love story. Arabella's expectations have been dashed by a elderly aunt so she is forced to find work in an elite school for young ladies as a teacher. Reginald "Turnip" Fitzhugh's sister is a student. When Turnip goes to drop off a Christmas basket for his sister, him and Arabella discover a Christmas pudding with a secret message that seems to be for a French spy. The two quickly find themselves investigating this mystery, and fighting feelings for each other. Everyone of these books are sweet, funny and full of intrigue. With the appearance of Jane Austen, I think this was one of my favorites.

Book Blurb for The Mischief of the Mistletoe

Despite her dear friend Jane Austen's warning against teaching, Arabella Dempsey accepts a position at a girls' school in Bath, just before Christmas. She hardly imagines coming face-to-face with French aristocrats and international spies.

Reginald "Turnip" Fitzhugh-often mistaken for the elusive spy known as the Pink Carnation-has blundered into danger before. When Turnip and Arabella find their Christmas pudding yielding a cryptic message, they are launched on a Yuletide adventure. Will they find poinsettias-or peril?
