A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Daisiemae

Seducing C.C. is a seductively sexy and romantic story by Ariel Tachna.  I was immediately caught up in the lives of the characters in this story and before I knew it, the book was ending.  I loved how the main characters romantic relationship developed throughout the book. It was easy to get caught up in the gradual steps of how they went from unsure strangers, hesitant friends to having a beautiful and loving relationship between them.

When Roger accepted being a summer counselor at a premier Appalachian girls’ camp, he definitely had a mission to fulfill. He wanted to rid himself of the hurtful memories of his boyfriend cheating on him and the bad breakup that happened because of it. He figures that being the only gay man in an all girls’ camp will keep his mind off of other men and the problems that come with starting any relationship. Roger is immediately taken under the wing of the other seasoned female camp counselors. He’s given the nickname “Astro” and just when he thinks his plan to stay away from pretty boys is going to work, he meets “C.C” the camp EMT and maintenance man.

Even though “Astro” and “C.C.” must bunk together, Astro thinks he’s pretty safe from any summer fling. C.C. gives the impression that he’s straight AND a player, so Astro tries to harden his heart and tone down his attraction to him. But, as the summer progresses and the men start revealing and realizing things about each other, a relationship starts to form and slowly buds into something that could be the best thing that ever happened to either of them. Unfortunately, most summer flings often come to and end…will Astro and C.C. have what it takes to make a life with one another once the season starts to change?

I really enjoyed this book. I liked the comradeship between all of the counselors and the bond that they all formed together as the book progressed. It’s not just Astro and C.C.’s love story, but it’s also a story about friendship. How friendship begins, changes over time and sometimes comes to a bittersweet end. I thought this was written very realistically, and I admit I teared up several times at the end of the book. Honestly, the best thing about Seducing C.C. was the way Astro and C.C.’s characters both grow and evolve throughout the novel. Not only do they grow as people, but the beautiful love and respect they have for one another was a joy to read about. Ariel Tachna is becoming a must read author for me. I really enjoy her easy and descriptive style of writing and I adore her characters.

Book Blurb for Seducing C. C.

m/m, contemporary
Page Count:  200

When Astro—as his fellow counselors dub him—signed up to spend the summer at Camp Laguna, North Carolina’s premier girls’ camp, he had two goals in mind: escape the memories of his cheating ex and avoid any other romantic entanglements. Then he meets C.C., the camp’s EMT and handyman. It doesn’t take long for Astro to realize that C.C. will pose far more problems to his peace of mind than his ex ever did.

C.C. is gay, unattached, and interested. He’s also a playboy of the worst order, and Astro is all too aware that they only have nine weeks together before the summer ends. So Astro has a choice: fan the flames between them and hope he can seduce C.C. into a relationship that lasts past the end of the summer, or let the chance pass him by and protect his heart.
