Destiny and Mac are the best operatives for the job. They don’t have family and it’s Christmas. No one will be upset when they go to investigate mysterious disappearances happening at a lab located high in the Colorado Mountains. And whose bright idea was it that their cover was to be married?!
Destiny can’t stand Mac. His hot body, his sultry eyes….. Really, she can’t stand the pompous womanizer. If half the rumors are true, well! He’ll never get his hands on her.
Mac has heard Destiny called a man-eater. Seems no one can get close to her. She must hate all men. But for some reason he finds her unbearably attractive. What he wouldn’t give to get under her gruff exterior. And her clothes.
Acting like school yard crushes, Destiny and Mac soon discover all they’ve heard about the other is just hearsay. Getting to know one another, the chemistry that already exists flames out of control. And it’s not just hormones that are being engaged. They are falling in love. But will they live to tell one another?
With the mystery of who or what is making the staff disappear added into the witty repartee that Mac and Destiny engaged in made this a fun as well as spooky read. The sex was erotic and hot as well as emotional. Mac went all alpha, but backed off appropriately so as not to engage my jerk meter. I like me an alpha, but not one that smothers his woman when she is perfectly capable. A good solid read that I highly recommend.
