Snatched from her planet, Shanna finds herself in a cage with other women from earth, on their way to be sold to the highest bidder. Apparently earth women are all the rage and everyone wants one. Lucky her. Determined to be free or die trying, Shanna fights with all her skills to avoid being sold, and soon finds herself in a worse predicament. Saved at the last possible minute by a huge warrior with a cadre of soldiers, she soon finds herself being fought over by her rescuers. Her savior whisks her away and she soon realizes she must stick with him to avoid being property. Demanding his protection, she goes home expecting to be a housekeeper.
Hyvin Berrr is the leader of Zorn and has no use for humans. Even though three of his sons have bound to them, he doesn’t see the attraction. Then he meets the fiery Shanna and is soon under the same spell as his sons. Being already bound to a madwoman, he has no choice but to bring her into his home as a house helper and the lowered status puts her at risk. Many try to manipulate and abuse her, but only one thing can truly hurt her; not having Berrr care for her the way she’s coming to care for him. In a world that is foreign and completely alien, she struggles with custom and tradition all while trying to find her own way. Will the path lead to happiness with Berrr, or devastating pain?
Guilty Pleasure Alert! The latest installment in the Zorn series is a keeper. Wickedly hot it fills the reader with envy as well as anger. Sure the planet is advanced enough to travel the stars, but the rights of their women are seriously lacking. Treatment viewed as tradition will rub any woman the wrong way, but the subjugation is also a dirty little turn on at times. Who doesn’t dream of being at a man’s sexual mercy?
As the relationship between Berrr and Shanna develops, it soon becomes clear that Berrr is the victim and Shanna is his ultimate obsession. Too noble for his own good he’s also startlingly dense at times, but that’s to be expected from a man. With miscommunication, societal misunderstandings and plain out subterfuge this novel will keep the reader engaged until the very end. As there are more Zorn warriors that need a woman, I can only hope there will be more stories in this very hot and erotic storyline.
